Something in a large caliber, belt fed, and preferably on a bipod. With at least 150-200 rounds.

Ar-15 for the wolves is the easy choice.

Tikka T3 .30-06 for the bear. Only thing I own with enough horsepower, only 4 slow shots though.

Definitely would prefer the wolves. They're overgrown dogs and dogs dont handle being shot very well. A bear is an overgrown coon which is a bullet sponge.

That's about 6 seconds to make a kill shot. Assuming bear and wolf run 35mph which is what I found on google.

How much ft/lbs of energy to kill a bear? 2500 according to google(not sure how accurate). What can deliver that at 100 yards and also allow good second and third shots.

Wolves would need less firepower and more quick shots so no clue. Maybe and AR15 would work.

22 caliber pistol for the bear
SBE2 with 3.5in 00 Buck and slugs for the wolves and the bear

The 22 pistol would be to shoot myself after unloading the shotgun. While I have shot many a running animal I’m not very confident in my ability to hit pretty much a softball size target loping at 30mph that is intent to kill me.
Watching videos of PHs and guides shoot bears and buffalo at point blank range with no visible panic is impressive to say the least.

.308 in AR 10 for the bear, 30 round magazine

Some kind of buckshot combo in a semi auto shotgun on the wolves.

I don’t like either situation but like my chance 1 on 1 rather than 1 on 4

Buck knife in one hand, beer in the other.
Probably a stout.

If we're being realistic on stopping power, probably a 458 win mag/ lott controlled round feed.

Possibly a guide gun style 45-70 with hotloads based on capacity.

I’m rethinking the belt fed option. AR-10 with a grenade launcher on the rail. That’s for the wolves. For the Kodiak, some sort of laser guided or heat-seeking missile launcher.

Bear - Biggest thing I own is a 7mm Mauser. It shoots flat, doesn't kick you around, it's indeed a bit light but you can probably squeeze of the 5th while still standing your ground, and has lots of powder.

Wolves - 1100 stacked with decreasing rounds of buckshot, from 000 to single aught, to a no numbered slug, since we get to be prepared, and like previous said with the plug out)

If you shoot the bear at 100 yards claiming it’s going to charge you then you will and should be spending time in jail.

Yep.
Most charges are bluffs. A bear will rarely charge from 100 yards away for any reason though, usually stalk at that distance.

Question was purely hypothetical. I was just interested in what kind of gun people would use in that scenario.

Besides, anyone who has seen South Park knows all you have to do is shout “It’s heading right for us” to justify the kill.

Most guides I know carry a "guide gun" and a large caliber handgun.

Guide gun is usually a lever gun with a short barrel and a huge projectile, like the .375 or 45-70. The .338 WM is popular in bolt action too.

Some people worry about recoil but you're not going to have much time for that. Not enough to worry about.
