South Lake Charles checking in.
No more than 2-3 that I've seen at one time, but these do not like sharing.

Florida Panhandle. This was the best summer I've ever had for them. Usually it's slow at my house but this summer was steady demand. Now we're into the start of migration and the numbers have gotten really high. It's a constant fight at every feeder. I had three at a wildlife refuge this morning where they are considered to be somewhat rare. Migrating birds are showing up here too, in low numbers so far, but fall is on the way, soon.

I put one feeder in front of my house and one in back of my house.
Watching the a-hole hummingbird in the group try to defend both of them at the same time is always entertaining.

Lowest numbers I have ever had. Have done nothing different.

I didn't know hummingbirds were so territorial until I started hanging feeders years ago. Got one that must be fighting off a dozen of them every day. It's fun to watch.

Starting to see more here outside of Memphis. Had the resident hummer trying to chase off 3 or 4 other birds from its feeder.

We started with 5ish last week; last night we had more than twenty jousting around - just north of Lafayette.
Peak season last year we had more than 50 at a time.

I set up my first feeder last week. I haven't seen any birds yet, but my wife and kid said they each saw one over the weekend.

Aztec Hummingbird God of War
I learned a while ago that the Aztecs associated their god of war with a hummingbird and believed warriors that died in battle returned to earth as hummingbirds, and never really understood why until I watched a few fight like hell over sugar water.

Oh yeah. Hummers raising hell in Cenla. I think they would rather buzz each other than share a feeder and each have sip. I have 9 feeders out and estimate there are 15 - 18 hummers. Love watching them little frickers.
