First year we have had a measurable number in south LC. Will these hummers return annually now? Can anything be added to the feeders to simmer them down and not fight?

I am still having swarms of them up here. My wife estimated that she has gone through 15 pounds of sugar since they started migrating.

I’m going through 2# a day since the swarm started here
Next year I’m going to try to keep a running number from when I start

The most hummers I have ever seen were at Tara. Literally hundreds of them one afternoon. I remember one of their hands saying they went through a hundred #’s of sugar a week feeding them.

We’ve got a ton of the black-chinned hummingbirds this year. 4-5 fighting for the feeder all day.

Bump - we are filling 6 feeders every other day 10 miles north of Breaux Bridge
