When the oil percent says 0%

when the truck says to change the oil. Usually ends up being about 10k.

I live close to work so I do 5k.
I also pull some. Not heavy but still.
If I was further I'd do 7500

5k. On her Mazda I'd just been following the maintenance minder which put oil changes in the 7-8k range, but the more I read about long term impact, especially on turbochargers, I switched to 5k at about 40k miles. Pennzoil & whatever decent filter I find that day.
I have a Ranger Raptor, so another turbo, so 5k there as well. Regularly aspirated I'd go with the maintenance schedule as long as it was under 10k.

Between 10%-15% on the truck

When my truck tells me to change it, usually about 10k miles, almost all of them highway.

2021 Ram. The manual says 10k miles, but I change every 5k. Plus I don't know how much I trust the oil life monitor on the trucks. It seems like instead of monitoring oil quality its set to a strict 10k miles no matter what.

With the new engine in my Tundra, I'm getting it changed every 5000 miles.

308,000 miles and going

5k on my 3.0 Babymax diesel. Still show roughly 40-50% oil life monitor but don't trust it.

On my F150 with 2.7L ecoboost I change the oil every 5K miles. I do this cause a 25+ year ford mechanic told me NOT to listen to the owner's manual. Said that turbo motors are harder on everything. Oil, spark plugs, etc.
On my old 4Runner with the 4.0L i do a complete oil change every 10K miles.
With an oil filter change and top off oil every 5K miles.

At least 15k. No more than 20k. Saves money

I think most manufacturers set their maintenance schedule to incur the least amount of cost that will get the vehicle to 100k miles. A lot of people sell by then so it doesn't matter.
Just as an example, Mazda claims their transmissions are "sealed" and don't need any service at all until 100k miles. There is no lubricating fluid on the face of the planet that does its job as well at 100k miles as it did when it was new. That's just bullshite designed to keep your maintenance costs low.
There are plenty of subject matter experts on Youtube that can give people more realistic service intervals if they don't happen to know an honest mechanic like you did.
