Does that Victoria Secret Amber Romance Really work? If so what works best; lotion or mist?

Yes, but not as good as actual bug repellent.
I read a paper where someone tested a bunch of bug repellents and a few old wives tales. To their surprise, Amber Romance deterred bugs, but at only 60ish% of the level actual repellents worked. Still that's 60ish% better than nothing at all.
Final conclusions to me were to use actual bug repellent, but amber romance could work better than nothing if it's all you have.
Plus you have to explain why you smell like a french whore coming home from fishing. And that's always a tough sell...

So Off works better than the Amber Romance? I am not looking for good smelling, I am looking for something to keep the gnats off of me

For gnats the Amber romance definitely works better. I personally bring latex gloves, long sleeves and pants, fine mesh head net. Oh and socks as well. Only thing I have found that is 99% effective.

I got tore up by gnats the other day with regular off used.
I quit fishing went to shop and found this "natural" off... it smelled terrible but it kept the gnats off much better than regular off.
The guys at work swear by amber romance for gnats. Not mosquitoes

I’m trying some stuff my wife bought at Walgreens called Vanilla Body Fantasies. Works pretty good. It’s in a spray bottle.

Works wonders for gnats. Still wear long sleeves, pants, and a buff most of the time though.

Amber romance and bens mixed in a squeeze bottle, that’s how I’m attacking them next. They lit me up at Campos Sunday lol

I been using a bottle of maxi deet that I have had for a while. Keeps them away for me. I’m sure amber rose is mo healthy for the skin...but fuk a gnat attack.

DEET is useless against gnats. Amber romance works very well. I bought a bottle of this stuff on amazon for $8 and have been using it for a couple weeks. I can confirm that it works very very well. Has more of a vanilla scent if you don’t want the perfume smell of amber romance.

What I've been using and has been working well. I ordered mine off amazon for 6 dollars. Its usually found at dollar stores but they were all sold out from the gnats.
But I will say that its something of a ghetto perfume and wearing might prompt you to pick up some swisher sweets on your way home from quitting your job.

Deep Woods Off won’t touch them. The Repel lotion with 40% Deet was supposed to work according to an article I read. It seemed to work better than DWO but once they swarm it’s over. I just keep my headnet on when they’re swarming.
I’m gonna try vanilla/water spray this Saturday and see if it will help. They are brutal this year.

I usually layer vasoline on about a 1/4 inch thick across my whole body. Works great

Amber Romance definitely works against gnats, I find swamp swatter is equally effective without the stripper smell side effect.
