What info is out about the '22 Tundra yet? All I can find are rumors.

They put out a concept 1 ton dually with an 8 liter hino diesel and 5 speed transmission. That would have been so dominant in the hot shot market.
How? That engine had 260 horsepower

I have a 2020 Tundra Crew Max TSS which is an SR5 with the black appearance package. It doesn't have many frills, but that's what I wanted. I know the mpg is terrible but it's not a daily driver. Overall I'm more than satisfied.

My Jap truck was made in Texas, and will outlast whatever POS you’re driving.

I'm not sure why you're being combative. The Toyota is the most made in USA truck. By a huge margin.
My 2005 Tundra Double Cab (195K miles) was assembled in Fort Wayne Indiana, with 55% American manufactured parts, with remaining parts made in Japan - at least that what it says on the window sales price sticker. That’s pretty much “made in the USA” in my book.

I have a 2018. 28k miles, has been in the shop 4 weeks already. ABS system craped out at 200 miles. Front axle actuator engaged itself on interstate at 7k miles. Eats tires. Radio display decides it doesn't want to work anymore. Voice call function is abysmal. Torque management system makes it pull more sluggish than my gas burner Ford did. There's a whole lot to not like about it IMO.

And peterbuilts can be had with less power than a Ford 1 ton. You can't use all of the power Ford gives you anyway, and you damn sure can't use all the cummins power in a ram. The driveline is a bigger factor than the engine when it comes to pulling heavy. That yota with the Hino would have been a 500k mile truck working it however hard you could.

This is about the only new truck I'd consider. Ford left all kinds of power on the table with that engine; little bit of intake work, new cam, and a tune and it's a monster without breaking a sweat. I hope to pull a good one out of a junkyard one day and shoehorn it into my F150
I have a 7.5L gas in my 1997 F250 hunting truck. This baby gets almost 8.2 mpg but is a fricking beast. These photos were taken back in 2017 and there are 7 permits for Mexico on the window. 4 More now. First 9 permits were on windshield I replaced back in 2009/2010. I trust this truck to get me back and forth to our hunting ranch in Mexico 5-6 times a year. 6 hours to the border and about 3 hours to the ranch. No way I would trust my new F250 diesel. Just had too many issues with it.
If the world was coming to an end and I had to load our family up into one truck... that diesel F250 next to it would be in the driveway when we pulled out in this one. My 97 is Ford tough. My diesel F250 is city tough.

I kind of agree with this

I had an '03 Tundra with the 4.7 V8 for 13 years that I traded in for a '16 4Runner, but only because I couldn't fit two car seats in the back. Otherwise I'd still be driving it today. 13 years and nothing but regular maintenance (brakes, oil, tires, and a timing belt). Although I doubt that would be considered full size by today's standards.

In the fixed income world which is many multiples of the equity market, every 401k and pension out there owns Toyota bonds.
Very few own Ford or GM as they’re not investment grade.

I would drive the shite out of one if I could find a crewcab standard box 5.0 4x4.

Actually for years the Ridgeline takes this honor. Though the new Ranger just squeaked by the Ridgeline to take the top spot. Both with 70% domestic parts content. The Ridgeline also beats the tundra in all measurable reliability metrics. Though both ranger and Ridgeline are midsize but you didn't make that distinction in your claims.

Ridgeline is an accord with a small bed.
