I trust anything toyota puts out.
Turbochargers are ancient technology and in their most complex form have a handful of moving parts. Absolutely no reason to worry about them. All engines should have turbochargers.

AFM camshaft failure
Thanks to the semiconductor chip shortage, my Silverado came without the fuel management.
So far I’m getting 19-21 mpg with 275/65r20 (34.4”x10.8”)mud grips and a lift. I drive like a semi arse too.
It’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts. After 2 lifter jobs on my 15 Sierra, I was hesitant about going with back GM. The AFM was literally the only thing I disliked about the truck though.

It's not the parts, it's the heat. Turbochargers capture and concentrate an enormous amount of heat in the engine bay. They are also hard on even good synthetic oils. More and more trucks are coming equipped with liquid-to-liquid oil coolers, which helps but anything with a turbocharger should expect OCI's well short of factory recommendations, running heavier weight oil, and anything possible to ugrade the cooling system. Also, Toyota has had engines with severe sludge issues due to running exhaust manifolds too close to major oil galleries. I wouldn't trust anything until after the first few years of production have passed.

My problem with the ram/cummins combo is you can't use all the power you paid for. The torque management is abysmal to protect the transmission. Ford and GM are significantly less limiting. My ram will downshift going up an overpass with my 5k pound boat and that is ridiculous for a truck with 900 ft lbs of torque. My gas burner Ford didn't do that. The engine has loads of grunt left but the truck will drop out of 6th around 12 pounds of boost. That SUCKS and it pisses me off big time.

Seems like half the people I know own a half ton GM in that time frame and likewise, have not heard of any of them having issues.

Tundras don't have fancy electronics or blow cold air up your bunghole
My Tundra had and my sequoia has air conditioned seats.
I don't think I'd own a vehicle without them now.

Love heated seats, but the cooled make me feel wet...hehe

My 05 Z71 is starting to have lifter issues. But at most right now, I change the 1,2 & 3 plugs about every year or two because they foul.
It will last over 200k. I would never complain about that.

Other than the cluncky transmission no problem yet. Knock on wood.

Heat is energy, and when manufacturers are forced to scrape for every last tenth of an mpg turbochargers make a lot of sense because they make use of energy you’re otherwise shooting out the tailpipe. They’re not nearly as complex or maintenance plagued as crap like cylinder deactivation. Heat can be managed.

Add one more for tundra.
CarPlay, heated/cooled seats, power everything. I also just love that back glass sliding all the way down. I don’t want or need anything else

Currently in the fleet...
19 Ram 30k miles, 8 inch screen, no air ride. No issues other than the electric tailgate which is finicky at times.
13 Titan (the old style) It's a tank, no issues at all ever.
