Heading to Texas from Mandeville to do some fishing this weekend and I would like to pick up some boudin along the way. What are you guys' favorite boudin stops not too far off the interstate? Furthermore, are you guys currently aware of any of them being open for takeout?

Best Stop in Scott was always my go-to when taking boudin/cracklins to customers in Houston.

As others have said, can't go wrong getting off at the Scott exit, just before you get to Lafayette.

stop at Famous Food in Lake Charles as well. its not far off the interstate

They have great boudin as well as three kinds of cracklins.

regular, smoked and soft and spicy

the soft and spicy are a little different but great!

Does BS have a drive through now? Quit them when dons opened up and didn’t miss their attitude. Billy’s gets my business now but dons breakfast and lunch is stellar.

Billy’s. Make sure to get the pepper jack egg rolls and boudin balls as well.

No drive through at Best Stop but still my favorite for links. Billy's has a drive though but it still takes forever.

They opened up the Best Stop Express, one exit down at the Mire/Duson exit too, all the same boudin, cracklins, wraps, boudin balls, etc minus all the meat selection. A little easier to get to than their normal location.

Good to know, because the lines can be crazy at all the Scott locations

Thanks, guys. I tried Best Stop last time I came through and loved it. Might try something new with don's or billys.

The best I’ve had is at Ronnie’s in Hammond. Getting the smoked links and baking in the oven until the casings are crispy, and then dipping in creole mustard is the way to go

Best Stop does have good products, however, they started adding too much liver to their recipe for my taste.

Try Sonnier's in Lake Charles. It is only three blocks from I-10. Enterprise Blvd. to Mill Street.

Put Poches on the list and get a plate lunch if you can but get their stuffed chickens or pork chops from the meat market to take home. Bring an ice chest

Billy's or NuNu's in Scott.

Bonus - stop at Rabideaux's in Iowa. They've got the best smoked sausage I've ever had.
