re: The Official Kayak Thread - Mark Makers
Only thing about the new integrated weed guard is I think you have to take the whole part off to clean or check in there. I hand the weed guardian and I can pop it on and off
The prop still comes off like it used to. The only difference is you can't replace the shear pin without...

re: The Official Kayak Thread - Mark Makers
It came on the new drive with my Max and it definitely works. Just keep in mind that grass is still going to get wrapped up in the prop. All this does is make it easier to pull the grass off because it doesn't get caught inbetween the propeller and the cartridge....

re: The Official Kayak Thread - Mark Makers
Overall I love it, there's a few things I don't like but no deal breakers. - The horizontal rod storage is not very user friendly. I've just been storing them in vertical rod holders behind me now. - Built in paddle storage also not efficient. I'm going to rig up something to store my paddle of...

re: The Official Kayak Thread - Mark Makers
I had an incredible day of redfishing in Delacroix on Saturday for the tournament. I had my limit by 8:30 AM and continued to catch fish and upgrade all day. Johnson 1/4oz gold spoon and Ginger Avenger inline spinnerbait around the grass were the tickets. Ended up in 3rd place at 130", 1st & 2nd ...

re: How is it looking for the construction industry - Mark Makers
One thing that I found interesting, and something that I'm surprised hasn't slowed down construction more... If employees contract coronavirus at work, that is considered an OSHA recordable incident. https://www.businessinsurance.com/article/20200311/NEWS06/912333495/OSHA-reminds-employers-COV...

re: How is it looking for the construction industry - Mark Makers
I'm not sure what to think yet. Yesterday we had a meeting in Baton Rouge kicking off a nice industrial project that seems full steam ahead. On the contrary, we had another large project in TX just get delayed for 1 year. Business as usual in our own office as of now, just a little more hand sanit...
That looks extremely nice with the marine mat. I really liked the new slayer in the small amount of time I spent in it at the Pack and Paddle demo day. The higher seating makes it so much easier to stand compared to my outback and is one thing I seriously miss from my old Titan.
...
TC it’s a bad omen to bring trout home from a. Spot you need them the following week. SMH!
The wife said she wanted me to keep everything I catch, happy wife happy life. You know, Coronavirus quarantine groceries. I would have rather let them swim and not have to clean fish when ...

re: The Official Kayak Thread - Mark Makers
Maiden voyage in the Slayer Max yesterday, awesome boat. There's no better boat in the Native lineup for fishing our area IMO. If I had to complain about one thing, I found the horizontal rod storage to be a pain to use. It's much more usable in my Titan. I'll just store my rods vertical and pro...
That's my biggest issue being left handed. I use the right side more than the left.
And I'm right handed and often wish my steering was on the the right. I use right-handed baitcasters primarily, which means I hold the rod with my left hand. Adjusting steering on the left ...

re: The Official Kayak Thread - Mark Makers
I think Hobie's shallow water capability and ability to "flutter the fins" is over hyped. I say this because I have fished alongside friends with Hobies for years and 99% of the time if I'm pulling my drive due to shallow water, so are they. Hobie's performance in grass is noticeably better thou...
