Pad V's your running on the edge all the time and having to drive it to get max speed at WOT, jerking on the wheel to keep it up on the pad, my last one we hit a small boat wake I didn't even notice and it fell off the pad and almost ended up like the guys in the video. I now run a full tunnel air entrapment hull and all that chine walking is gone, running 85+ feels nor drives any different than running 40 or 50 except for the wind in your face.

I like to keep it cool and at 26.

Last time I went 65 as a passenger in a bass boat I told him to SHUT IT DOWN or I was gonna jerk the wheel and end it all.

Bastard kept going.

If I ever got on board a man's boat and he handed me a glorified motorcycle helmet he bought at cabelas with a full face shield as standard operating equipment, I'm handing it back and going bank fishing with the poors down by the culverts.

Well I do. Years of experience taught me 6 minutes is the expiration going 40 mph

Fastest I've ever gone is about 60 mph, so how fast does a boat going 80+ slow down once you reduce throttle? Is that bad for the boat? I mean most boats slow down almost instantly once throttle is reduced. Could the guys in the video not have reduced the throttle greatly and saved that pretty easily?

You don’t chop the throttle when running that high up the pad, guaranteed to bow hook and do what you just saw. Trimming down to get out of chine is move one

Video should remind you and everyone else why you don’t go 102mph in a damn bass boat

just not sure why someone would want to...?

65mph is about my max...45 if there is ANY chop.

Sucks hard as a passenger in a single console.

I'll be idling into a cove and he'll say, "Go up a little farther and jump in front of these guys." or "That guy behind us just caught one, lets pull closer and see what he's throwing."

This is what's wrong with most of the DA's out there these days ruining it for everybody....nobody ever taught them the rights/wrongs of bass fishing.

To the OP, I say as long as you can run your boat safely I don't care what mph you get it up to, as long as you aren't a threat to others.

That said I will soon be ordering a BassCat Eyra that should run between 77-80 when I get it broke in/set up correctly. But as long as it has been for me behind the wheel of a fast boat it will be some time before I get comfortable again at those kind of speeds.

Then again I usd to fish tourneys in an 87 mph Allison back when NOBODY was running 70.

Good times

This

First sign of trouble trim down...chopping the throttle is what gets most people....hard not to do as it's the natural instinctive thing your brain tells you to do...but it's a no-no at those speeds
