Meh. Witnesses said the kid suddenly sprang and jumped over the railing. Unless you think kids should be chained up, shite can happen fast

i still think the parents should be held accountable for it too. If some a-hole walks by a wet floor sign and falls, they still sue the company that put the sign there. The parents were negligent and an animal died because of it, they should be held accountable and their insurance or they should have to pony up for it.

Listen a-hole, I'm not saying I would jump in there and attack a fricking silverback gorilla you moron.

But I would try to scare it off and rescue my kid.

I'd love to watch video of that. Scare it off? The gorilla is like triple your size. It would rip your arms off and beat you to death with them, and then probably kill the poor kid after due to it being in a frenzy.

So yeah, nice job helping.

I think the zoo is more negligent for having a railing short enough for a 4 year old to get over

frick that man. people need to take some responsibility for their actions, only a fricking idiot climbs in a pit with a gorilla and only an irresponsible idiot doesn't keep an eye on their kids in public. When my nephews were 3 or 4, we had the fricking leashes on those little frickers because they wanted to go everywhere, we took responsibility for the kids with us and took it serious, although we also don't have kids running around like assholes doing whatever they want either so we are out of the norm.

I don't give a shite if they are trashy or not, they work. I have taken my nephews to the zoo and even if they tried to climb in, they wouldn't have fallen in because of the leash.

Accidents happen. Unless you want to require leash laws for kids, shite like this going to happen on occasion. According to eyewitnesses standing next to the mom the kid just bolted over the railing.
My daughter bolted away from me to pick up something in a parking lot once. I screamed and ran as fast as I could while handling her 2 year old sister. She got a spanking and was punished when I caught up to her but it happened. I was not being negligent. She would usually hold my hand and obey my commands but that day she decided the doubloon on the ground was worth disobeying me. I would still rather take a chance than put a kid leash on her.

How stupid are the parents of this kid who fell in? And how stupid must this kid be? Sad that a gorilla had to die because people are just over and away dumb, pure idiocy.

Other reports are that she was trying to corral a large group of kids, and that he was acting up before this.

Having seen plenty of parents who can't or won't control their little shitheads in public, I'm inclined to give this parent less of the benefit of the doubt. You keep the lil' bastard under control at all times, or you stay away from potentially hazardous situations. Is this parent legally responsible? Maybe not, but I'm fine with her getting a dose of good ol' public shaming.

"Scare" it? It's not a raccoon.

If you make an aggressive move towards it, it will frick you up.
