I always said if someone can figure out a pick your channels type tv service they would probably make a killing. I get you’d probably have to do something like all of “Disney” just to get ESPN but that would probably still do better than being stuck with a bunch of shite I don’t want/need.

I know they can do it, just don't know why someone doesn't

I cut the cord a few years ago and never looked back. Samsung tv has about 250 free streaming channels included and I can usually find a free steaming feed for sporting events online.

Lol 8 dollars in 2023 is fricking nothing, a coke in the gas station is 3 dollars

It's a slow boil. All of these streaming services are slowly jacking up their prices without adding any additional good content.

Still way less, plus 4k price was cut by 10 bucks. Which was necessary bc it's been a shite product overall.

Drop it. You don't need it.

The issue with traditional cable was the contracts and terrible customer service with the high price. At least with these, there's a competition and I don't mind cutting one and starting another. It's extremely adaptable at least unlike the cable BS days.

All I remember was Spectrum continually jacking up prices as well.

In case no one has noticed, there has been a bit of inflation the past couple years.

*Sure, I'd like to have it for 40 bux a month like it was a few years ago. One needs to look at reality though. Everything is going up.

of course it is because its still a la carte

and you don't need all the services at the same time, rotate them to watch what you want

You could also make a valid argument that everyone who got in on youtube tv back when it was 39.99 or less for a couple of years was really getting subsidized by google. I'm pretty sure YoutubeTV was a money loser the first several years it existed.

I've got YTTV and them dropping MLB Network a month or so back pissed me off. It's one of the few channels I watch. This price hike has me canceling the service after March Madness is over. But yeah, I'll probably sign back up for football season. During the summer I pretty much only watch MLB.TV

You’re right.

Cost of living never increases over 1-2 years time.

They have not added enough content over the last 6 years to justify doubling their price, IMO. It's why I got rid of them.
