We have Youtube TV for $65 and then Google Fiber for another $85, which I am ok with for the actual product. You can upgrade, downgrade, by yourself without being bound to a contract.

I feel like cable was constantly trying to inch me up to $300/mo if I took my eye off the ball and didn't continually renegotiate.

I think this is all going to go a la carte in the next decade to be honest.

Add up all of those.

Are you actually saving money compared to cable?

Do you not have all of them (outside of YouTubeTV) along with cable?

Still much better than dealing with a cable box, at least for right now.

Might as well pay for DirecTV or Dish

This. The whole attraction was that you could get the channels that you typically watch repeatedly for much cheaper than these 2 options.

I don’t need 100 feeds of useless shite when I routinely only watch the same feeds. They became overpriced for me one or two price hikes ago. It’s like DTV all over again.

Adding disney+ and netflix to the YouTube tv cost and then comparing to cable is not apples to apples.

Dropping youtube tv and going back to a traditional cable package doesn’t get you disney+ or netflix content.

A fair comparison is youtube tv alone versus a comparable cable package. And even with the price increase youtube tv >>>>>>> traditional cable.

Naw it's definitely still cheaper than DTV or Dish, just not as much anymore.

I just laugh at the services that charge you one price, then a higher price for ad free content

LOL

I was already paying for ads with my cable. Why the hell would I switch?

Because they all have unique programming. It's not like Netflix is showing the same thing that your cable provider is showing.

I’ll be making the switch to Hulu Live then. I already pay for the Hulu, Disney & ESPN bundle. Switching to Hulu Live gets you the whole bundle for $70.

yeah i may consider it. Hulu is just a far inferior UI, for my tastes anyway.

frick me. I'm paying for Netflix, YouTubeTV, and Disney+ currently. I don't think about it because I don't want to know how badly I'm getting screwed.

Compared to my $220/month Spectrum cable bill? Yes.

Which is my point. You are almost paying the same as those cable and satellite packages, so why not spend the extra?

At the rate YTTV is going, they will eventually charge the same for less content.

The only real solution to this would be a cable package that is a la cart. A cable company should have the means to provide you with whatever channels are available, but you should be able to pick which channels you want for a price-per-channel subscription.

Obviously some channels will be more expensive than others, but forcing people to pay near $100 for 50+ channels they don’t watch is an outdated concept in 2023.

We have an important update for our members. After nearly 3 years, we’re adjusting our monthly price from $64.99/month to $72.99/month. As content costs have risen and we continue to invest in the quality of our service, we are updating our price to keep bringing you the best possible service.?

3-4 years ago we've kept YTTV in the background after football season. I'd use it to watch college basketball and college baseball and then cancel for the summer. The past two years we cancel as soon as the national championship is over. I'd watch any baseball/basketball I wanted through sketchy sites.

This is the first year I haven't watched a single pitch or the basketball go through a net one time and I haven't missed it.

I can almost guarantee you that I won't be renewing my YTTV membership, and whatever football I watch will come from being in restaurants/streams.

Other than sports, the YTTV content is garbage. I like the aspect of betting, but it's swallowed most of the industry, specificallt football. Maybe it comes with age, but I just don't see the value in paying for these services anymore.

Yea, it is still cheaper than most cable packages, but it is getting close. Spectrum 1st year rate is lower than this is, but that's all you'd get. After that, a comparable package is still going to probably be like $15/month more roughly. So, the gap is narrowing quickly, but still overall it is a better service than cable.

because its still around $80/month cheaper. And YT TV is also a superior product imo.

Not really sure what you're advocating.

Yea I can’t stand Hulu but in this case it makes sense to switch. I pay $14.99 for the bundle plus $64.99 for YT TV.
