Are these men or women instigating this? Stupid question?

Look for an Upward Basketball league in your area. Much more laid back.

I have no idea.

First practice is tonight, so I guess I'll find out

Have kids in football, softball, baseball, basketball and soccer.

What I have learned, parents are hell bent on making sports miserable for kids.

Some of the worst is soccer in North Texas. I am amazed at the parents wanting to start their kids in academy as early as 1st grade and dropping thousands a year to do it.

Soccer is the game of the poor in the World, yet only in America can we turn it into rich kid's sport

offensive philosophy

Don't trip over your own shoe laces. Drill --- tying your own shoes

Don't catch a pass with your nose. Drill --- pay attention.

Run to both sides of the court. Drill --- wind sprints at the end of practice to wear the kids out.

Questions?

she's too young to listen to and you're too old to think it would be fun

Tell your daughter the league ran out of basketballs and find something else for her to do.

You don't understand.

I'm the type of person who has to clear their notifications all the time.

Well, then, the only course of action is to head to Nebraska, find the closest fire department or hospital, and stuff your daughter into the "no questions asked through the 72nd trimester baby return box".

Now, she might fuss and cry and make noise, but you need to stay firm and strong if you want those notifications to stop.

EDIT: Well, further investigation has uncovered that they closed that "through the 72nd trimester" loophole and you can only stuff kids in the box if they're under 30 days old. Looks like you're stuck with her. Learn to love the notifications.

You need to get them setup on the Band app, it's a much better way to organize youth sports. Then you can turn off notifications and just check it daily.

ETA: This was in Livingston Parish

Tell them to put up money to buy Boogie Cousins back from the Warriors. You may win the league.

As someone who coached U6 soccer for a while...that's hilarious.

Please post screenshots.

Just tell them to run the picket fence and to not get caught watching the paint dry.

At least it’s not a T-ball coach that argued for a run to count after a bases loaded 3rd out at first. “He crossed the plate before they got the out! That’s baseball 101,” he said. I had to walk away.

Buckle in, my friend.

Oh this is so true. The academies play other academies most of the time. These kids are not even that good many times.

Academy teams can be a great thing later in life (teenage) when you know who the true athletes are, but these people are seriously just wasting money until then.

I know so many kids who got burned out from being in academy at a young age and quit playing. No child should get burned out from a sport, it is supposed to be fun.

ETA - With that being said, I think my youngest is a legit prospect for MLB. Looking for some good 8U travel teams in North Texas
