At 6 years old they are wanting to discuss offensive philosophy? They might want to consider focusing on basics first.

Are you serious? College and pro scouts start officially recruiting the 6 & Under programs. If you want your kid to earn a scholarship she better train at an a very early age or you will wind up with an offer from Hinds Community College!!!

Offense: Twin Towers. Recruit a couple of Danny Almontes and dare the other parents to question their gender identity.

Defense: 40 Minutes of Hell.

So..uh...holy shite

I learned a few things from the first practice:

1) We have 2 fricking games a week. Plus practice. What the frick. I played basketball growing up and we had 1 practice a week and 1 game on Saturday morning. Now we have 2 games every Tuesday and Thursday at like 7:30.

2) Our coach said that the other teams will be stacked and our team probably won't get a shot off. I signed my daughter up for this because she saw my old basketball trophies and wanted to learn to play. I thought it would be fun. But if the other teams are going to be so good that she and her teammates won't be able to do anything, she will probably get discouraged and lose interest. Yay.

3) The coach said the other teams will be so good that they will be running plays...at 5 fricking years old.

4) My daughter's team does have a kid that is tall as frick and can dribble between his legs. This kid might be our Adam Banks. *crosses fingers

5) The coach tried to make the kids do left handed dribbling drills. Half my HS team couldn't dribble off handed but he thinks 5 years olds can? Half of them didn't even know which hand was their left.

6) If my daughter somehow scores a point this year, I'm definitely high-fiving every single person in the stands.

Hey Scruff, I’m a shredded 155lbs. I hang at the Galvez Sonic, come find me bro. I’ll be under the awning sipping on a Powerade Mountain Berry Blast with nerds, macking on the tatted up carhops.

You’re getting a little worked up over a 5 year old girls basketball team that probably uses half the court and 4’ goals and a ball that’s no bigger than a size 3 soccer ball.

It will be okay, I promise.

I need to know when/where practice is...

Shouldn't the coach be sending out that info rather than a group of parents?

Parents are the worst thing to happen to youth sports. It’s supposed to be fun and about learning the fundementals. Life lessons about winning, losing and perseverance. Now you have parents acting like the kids are playing for the Olympics. They are why a lot of kids hate sports.

Any why the kids grow up to be entitled assholes.

Kids hate sports??

You got a link for that?

I’d go out on a limb a say more kids are involved in all different types of sports nowadays than they were 15-20 years ago.

And I’m talking about 6-18 year old kids.
