These are the worst.. Well.. the people who work at a dealership. I learned that if you bring your vehicle into the dealership you have to tell them do not put anything on your vehicle without ask you first.
I went get a "free oil change" when I first got my first van I drove and the dude from the back came out, gave me a piece of paper and showed me where to check out. Them sons of bitches put on new windshield wipers. It was over $100 and I told the lady who was checking me out that I didn't need them and if I did I would go to autozone and get them for less than what I was being charged. She gave me some bullshite line about my safety and visibility, blah blah.
They kind of blind sided me with that one, but from that point on I made sure I told them to not put anything on my vehicle other than what I was there for without informing me first. And handed him a piece of paper I made a copy of. I took a piece of paper and wrote "I will not pay for anything added to my vehicle without being asked if I want to have it added on". I wrote the date and time, made a copy, kept the original and gave it to the dude I checked in with.
Im not sure if that would hold up on any possible legal action, but I just wanted to have something documented just in case. frick those assholes.

I had never dealt with a dealership in my life, my dad had a "guy" we went through.
If any of us wanted a car/truck we called Tommy and it would be done.
Last year I bought a little Hyundai Elantra for my son from a dealership in DFW, they "Got Me" good. Mostly my fault for trusting these buzzards, they stuck the warranty, tire plan, oil changes blah blah blah
After getting home and reading all of the stuff I tried several times to call back and have everything removed but the warranty, but the sales guy/ manager refused to take my calls.
Hopefully they made a life savings on that little 18K car deal because they lost a customer for life.
They also had a bunch of used cars on their web site to lure you in, but none were actually at the lot, bait and switch.

It is a good idea to read the paperwork before you sign it.

Many years ago I bought an Audi Q7. Awesome suv. I traded in an A4 for it and I got a really great deal. We needed to move into a bigger car for kids and such.
After about 2 weeks the dealer calls me and says did you know that the A4 you traded was in a wreck. I said yes, cause your dealership did the repairs. We had bought the car there, and they did all the maintenance. He proceeds to tell me how he can't get anything for it at auction so I need to bring the Q7 back, no deal.
I laughed and said not my problem you didn't get to screw me over. Deal is done. I wasn't bringing anything back. Dude actually started pleading with me. Told him if he called me again I would be filing a harassment complaint with the AG office. Never heard from them again. Got my car serviced at another dealership by my office.

I realize this so I ate the charges, I admitted it was my fault for trusting some crooks.
And I'm getting my oil changed every 5k

Did that year have the flip down headlights? If not, I know you had blacked out headlight covers on that bad boy.
Nahh, but I did trade in my high school/college car which was a ragged out '80 Z-28 with the "air induction" hood. The little flip openings that faced the driver were rigged to open when you floored the throttle. I had installed two red lights under it that looked like devil eyes starring at you when opened. In college, I had "gotten air" when going over the big hump in the middle of the Pensacola bridge on the way to FWB for spring break, and for the next five years, the muffler/exhaust was held in place with 4-5 coat hangers. The T-tops leaked in a heavy dew and I had drilled a few holes in the floor boards of the back seat to let water out. It had a 350 V-8 and but only made a 175 HP on its best day. Its best feature was an aftermarket Pioneer Supertuner 3 with cassette that picked up stations from Lafayette to New Orleans.
Before trading it in, I bondoed the holes and replaced the carpet with a mail order kit, caulked the T-tops, and removed the devil eyes. I got $1500 in trade for it and to this day, feel like I totally got over on the dealer. Then again, a restored version of the exact model just sold at auction for $50K.

Paid $23K for a loaded out Tacoma TRD in 2002. I wanted the Tundra, but they weren't making the full 4-door yet. Once they released it, I went to see what it would cost me to upgrade. It was less than a year later and the Tacoma only had about 6,500 miles on it and still in perfect condition. Salesman offered me $14K for it like he was doing me a favor. I told him to get fricked.

Do realize you can call & cancel all the ‘extras’ and get large % of $ back right? If cancel within 30 days of signing, get 100% back

I can’t wait to dealerships go to a thing of the past. I found a great deal on a used suv for my wife that she had been wanting. Really good deal. Work out details of purchase price (gave asking ) and agreed to a number. Should have know it was crooked when the salesman called me back 20 min later with a higher interest rate higher note and could not offer an explanation on why it went up. Just very hoodish remarks. Call my credit union, get my financing of the agreed purchase price plus t Tt&L. They tack on 1400 gap, 1300 tire and wheel, and another 1200 paint less dent repair. I fell them no. I don’t need any of it. They try and go on and on about how good it is and what it saves. I said I have gap already with my insurance. And I don’t need this other crap. Take it off. Dude comes back 2 min latter empty handed and says the man behind the curtain will not do the deal as they are loosing money. They have someone else that wants it with the add ons. Efff that place and all of their democratic workers they have there. Funny that the other guy would up not getting it either and they called me back the next day wanting to do the deal. Eff them. Their response to this being ok for them was that “I agreed to the price”.

Kind of OT, but I had a tire shop guy tell me that if I didn't pay for a front-end alignment my tires might just spontaneously explode on me.
What kind of shithole do you go to for vehicle maintenance? Sounds like you are getting what you’re paying for.

I demanded they take the nitrogen out of the tires last new truck I bought bc I wasn’t going to pay for that.
He thought I was joking.

You must have missed my wife. She gets ready to buy, she buys. She has bought several that i had no idea about. Once, I was in Baton Rouge buying my boat when she posted a picture of her new car in Bossier. Cant say we ever had any real issues with salesmen, we dont like the deal we gone.

One would think that never having had that load on the power train would be a benefit.

Same. My husband has not been with me for the last two I purchased.

Went in to buy and sign papers for new Honda Pilot. Price supposed to be for middle level vehicle. Guy says that vehicle is no longer available but we have the lowest level vehicle for the same price and we’ll give you upgraded floor mats. Laughed, tore up the paperwork and went to competition and bought the car I wanted new. NEVER be afraid to walk out on someone no matter how far along in the process you are. Guy was truly stunned.

Wife wanted a Rogue. We went look and test drive. Salesman in the back seat telling us the features. Told wife to pull into the Toyota dealership and park it by the highlander so we could compare side by side and price
I've never seen a salesman shite himself before and actually try to give us a good deal, but there was 2 of them side by side doing it

I tried, they would not take my calls or return them (they knew what I was going to do). I finally got the finance manager and called him a crooked piece of shite so he hung up on me.
I was pissed off after 15 calls or so
F'em
if they would have been honest there's a good chance that I would buy 4-5 vehicles from them in the next 10-15 years. Hope they enjoyed that $800 or whatever they made in commission

Somebody else may be petty though.
I don't disagree. We bought an Accord last February for my daughter who is a year older. I am not sure they even asked for anything beyond her enrollment status.
When you sell a 30K vehicle to a college student (at almost sticker) with a "transcript" the $500.00 should not be a red alert item IMO.
