Same, I’ll often do it election night. I’ll leave my fall decorations up and only decorate the Christmas tree. Then the day after Thanksgiving, I take down the fall decorations and put up the Christmas decorations. I like look at my tree though for longer than just six weeks.

Out youngest daughter was born Nov. 21st. Every year as part of her birthday celebration she wants to put the Christmas decorations up. And since my only part is hauling the boxes our of storage, I support that tradition…:

We start Christmas decorations thanksgiving day after a proper thanksgiving lunch. Football is on, Christmas music playing, and cocktails galore. New Year’s Day or the 2nd is when they all come down.

We put ours up before we head out for our Thanksgiving trip, so that it’s done once we get back and don’t have to deal with it.

I worked in some folks house some years ago in August and their Christmas tree was up. My first thought was damn that’s early until I saw the dust on it. The lights on the outside caught me off guard too…haha..

I’ll put mine up about a week before Thanksgiving because I usually get busy during Thanksgiving. Lights don’t go up until Thanksgiving weekend tho.

Our neighbor runs a lighting company and the earlier you get it done the cheaper it is. He charges double after November 1.
