The main issue is that the men that do this didn't grow up with women, and by the way they talk they do not respect them. And I don't mean a conscious disrespect, I mean there's an undertone that implies they think women are less intelligent than men. They think they are less capable. They believe that there are gender duties, which is preposterous.
There just aren't. There are biological dispositions, but it seems to be more black and white thinking of"men strong, men do this. Women birth, women do this."
As I get older the more this makes sense to me. Every day I read this board and I I close out hoping that most of the posters do not have daughters.

Women want to be men. So, men treat them like men. They treat them like weak, moody and temperamental men are treated by other men, badly. Men don’t respect weak men. It’s a man’s world, baby!!

That’s the Gen X “daddy’s little princess” generation. They expect men to treat them like their dads treated their moms but think all the stuff their moms did as part of the deal is beneath them.
Ever hear a woman of this age talk about how her dad didn’t know how to cook, operate the washing machine or do basic housework? They skip over the part where mom never had to work or take the responsibility to support the family financially.

Today's young men have seen what happened to their fathers when their moms decided to divorce them.
Their fathers lost at least 50% of everything they had worked for. Their cars/trucks, boats, home, and money saved. Half gone with an ink scribble.
In some cases they wound up losing their business.
But it wasn't just material things, the men lost the most productive times of their lives.
Then they had to watch their moms date a parade of strangers.
We may witness in the next generation ,one that least embraces the idea of marriage.
Their fathers lost at least 50% of everything they had worked for. Their cars/trucks, boats, home, and money saved. Half gone with an ink scribble.
In some cases they wound up losing their business.

I do think there's something to this. There was a time when men mistreated women, no question about it. A big problem I've seen, though, is that women overcorrected the other way and instead of being more selective about the men they associate with, they effectively started trying to out-men men. They took some of the worst and least desirable traits of "male" culture and adopted them into mainstream female culture, called it empowerment and it's been a disaster for them. Now they're finding themselves in total alienation from the good men of society because those guys have no interest in the equivalent of a female frick-boy and the only male attention they get is from the same guys they originally formed disdain for. It was a disasterous move for modern women.

One common trend you see is somebody acquiring a controlling share of a business that took decades to build and quickly running it into the ground.
The harsh reality is that the security of your job working for a family owned business is only as strong as the owner's marriage.
