To get respect, you have to earn respect.

I'm not surprised and I say that because I hear the way a surprisingly large number of other men talk to me about women. It's fricking gross.
The main issue is that the men that do this didn't grow up with women, and by the way they talk they do not respect them. And I don't mean a conscious disrespect, I mean there's an undertone that implies they think women are less intelligent than men. They think they are less capable. They believe that there are gender duties, which is preposterous.
There just aren't. There are biological dispositions, but it seems to be more black and white thinking of"men strong, men do this. Women birth, women do this."
As I get older the more this makes sense to me. Every day I read this board and I I close out hoping that most of the posters do not have daughters.
