That didn't stop my friend at work who drove his truck without tags for months.
But after multiple warnings from cops, he was given a $280 ticket.

Sure you can. You can’t drive on the roads that aren’t yours unless you help pay for them tho. Nothing at all wrong with not paying your tags and driving wherever you want to outside of public roads.

Florida is addressing this in the November election. We’re voting to phase out property taxes on homesteaded property.

It's just a form of taxes. Sure, it sucks, but its no different than income taxes or sales taxes.

You may drive your vehicle anywhere on your property, assuming that you have paid your property taxes.
Now, the streets? You do not own the streets/roads. The tax payers own the streets. AND, you need to pay fees in order to drive on said streets & roads. Unless you’d rather everything be toll roads…
