Cruises out of Seattle to Alaska are very nice. The trash generally doesn't like the cold

Why don’t you want to eat a buffet with 4,000 other people?

I went 2 years ago to try it. It was a Carnival Cruise. I tried hard to give it a chance. I have fun most places I go. I got involved in a ton of the ship’s activities. I still hated it. It’s not for me. Too many people everywhere. I’ll never go again.

The only negative is not enough time at each.

My wife has been on a couple before we met and this is she said. To each their own but we like to stay for several days in a place and not feel rushed. It does help we have a ahit ton of hotel points and we get the 5th night free when we stay for four.

We also like planning our trips and I don’t mind driving in a foreign country, we have been to a lot of cool places off the beaten path and not being rushed means if we like the vibe of a place we visit we don’t have to hurry up and get back to the ship.

I don’t begrudge anyone who wants to do a cruise, it’s just not my cup of tea

I like them. Just don't take the ones you might get decapitated for walking around the town

Went on an Alaskan cruise this summer. Higher end cruise. Not a single bad element on cruise. Scenery was God’s on canvas.

It was beautiful, relaxing, and no problems.

Would recommend that one. There were no non-swimmers.

Finishing up this cruise fest with a 120 day San Diego to Miami World Cruise leaving in March 2026.

To each his own. That sounds absolutely miserable, lol.

I like how everybody on the OT thinks that all cruises are like a three night cruise from the gulf.

Some of the richest people I know do cruises with smaller brands in far flung places.

Take a 7day Alaska cruise price point and you don't have the issues of a 3 day carnival cruise.

Sorry I am laughing, but hey I gave you a thumbs up. After the first few weeks I might even agree with your thoughts.

You could pay me because I pay plenty to the cruise companies.

All restaurants do that with unsold stock.

They only allow food to be held 4 hours then it's tossed when between 40 and 140°.

In 15 years, I’ve gone once. I am able to have a good enough time when I’m made to be there, but it just doesn’t offer what I look for in my own vacation planning.

Same with a cruise (referring to your standard cruise most Americans take - obviously the higher in luxury you go, the better it probably is). I’d make the best of it, but it doesn’t really scratch my type of vacation itch.

You see multiple places without the fatigue of traveling.

I'd rather just go to the places for a longer period of time

I've been in cruises when I was younger and the shore excursions aren't enough to really see much

Did one on Royal Caribbean about 6-7 years ago. I enjoyed just sitting on the balcony and drinking tequila sunrises.
