It’s a campground.

He should’ve headed for the bear box and kept something impenetrable between him and the buffalo.

It’s a campground dumbass. It’s pretty difficult to not be on foot at some point at camp.

Eta…especially that campground as tents are allowed and at some point they’ll be heading to the bathroom/showers.

Dude was keeping his distance but the bison was obviously agitated. He should have walked away immediately.

This is from the parking lot at Old Faithful, so I guess it's about the daily attitude of the bison in question.

I’ve been to Yellowstone. The level of dumbassery on the display at the park is amazing. We’ve separated ourselves so completely from nature that the average American has almost no idea what a wild animal is or what the term even means. Their only interaction is on their phone or gaming console.

The company I work for used to staff the medical clinics in Yellowstone.

A few years back when I was on the phone with my manger in Mammoth, I asked him how things were going there. He said, "well, we haven't had our first bison goring yet."

Yet

Ditto. I was thinking this video would give me some satisfaction, but it didn't. This appears to be someone who was doing the "right" thing, and at a campground, no less. This isn't someone that was in a FAFO spot as he was not participating, willingly, in the FA. When I was there I saw plenty of FAs that should have gotten their FO.

I lost a lot of faith in humanity at Yellowstone for many reasons. This isn't an example of that.

I’d wager he had a significant zoom lens and wasn’t that close
