Mine is on 78 right now and I'm comfortable.

What gets me about these threads is everyone pretending there's no variance depending on location of the thermostat or its accuracy.

Ya'll need to work on getting rid of that insulation around your belly area. That will help 75-78 degrees feel better.

my thermostat never goes higher the 73... most of the time its at 71

spend money of good windows and insulation.... a unit that isn't running is the most efficient.....

NOTE: setting a unit to 85 in the south is a good way to get mold/mildew issues....

I suggest the EPA move their offices to NOLA and follow their own guidelines.

Will the EPA then pay for the resulting mold remediation needs?

My power bill would be 700 dollars to keep the house at <70 all day.

74-75 during the day if I'm home.
70 at night.

I'm cold natured compared to a lot of folks. I keep mine on 79 most of the time and if it weren't for the old lady (no pics) I would keep it on 81 or so. If I kept it in the low 70's like I see some people do I would freeze to damn death

ours stays on 78-80

Things start getting pretty uncomfortable once you go higher than 76 degrees quite fast in Louisiana.
