I’m not one of those guys that needs the thermostat set at 65 degrees but 78 is a little stupid. 73-74 with the ceiling fan on low is my comfort zone.

It's 70F in my place and I'm starting to sweat while cooking (extra salt optional). My thermostat ain't getting nowhere near those recommendations.

Mine is at 65 right now. Sometimes the wife likes it even colder than that. But hey, we got a new unit last fall, and it is awesome. I don't think my house has been above 70 in a while. I like it cold to sleep, and I bump it up a little during the day. Even have the fan set to circulate, so it will run periodically even without the AC running.

Has anyone here checked the actual temp to what your thermostat control is displaying? You might be surprised just how much it can be off in either direction.

Had it on 79 all day while I worked. It was just fine. I'll put it down to 76 tonight.

I don't recall who, but some guy on here a few years back was chiding everyone for setting their AC "too low". He said he kept his set to over 80 during the summer months.

I suspect the mask wearers will take this far more seriously than I will.

64 at night, 66-68 during the day, 71-72 when I’m at work. Screw being stuffy or hot. I need a cold climate especially to sleep.

You sleep best and your body recovers best between 66-68 degrees. This is the government we are talking about...
