WAY!!!

The idea probably started as a 'motion' at a city council meeting, put forth by some minority woman who never had a real job but got elected to represent the shithole that is the neighborhood south of USC.

Probably passed almost unanimously. She probably won some award for it too, from Al Sharpton's Shakedown Shack.

2- how could it take you a day and a half to fill out documents proving you never owned slaves.

In order to fill out documents that big cities force you to fill out, you have to apply for the code to their online system, and then dig up founding documents archived in an attic we have, and then go get them notarized, scanned, e-mailed, and way, way more.

That was a few of a hundred steps I undertook. Why is that hard to fathom?

I wonder what would happen if states controlled their own destinies? What if they ran welfare, education, trade policies, etc? South would do better, IMO.

Mises has written extensively on how central banking has favored urban areas over rural areas. Jim Rogers is optimistic about the South's future, esp. When it comes to agriculture.

Demographics hurt certain areas. It's not rocket science.

What is an example of a draconian conservative policy that you would say is one of the causes of poor economics in the south?

Lack of commitment to education

People keep parroting this yet we spend more money on schools per capita than a lot of places. It’s almost like the lack of accountability for job performance leads to poor job performance and results.

Also the policies that incentivize being poor pushed down on us from Washington and self loathing progressives continue to destroy the family unit, and in turn respect for authority. This leads to shite schools even more so than borderline mentally handicapped students trying to learn calculus.

Only one flaw in your logic. He’s from New Jersey and went to Rutgers.

i'm going to imagine this is what the OP comes down to

1. the coastal, urban areas have had an explosion in salaries (primarily due to tech on the west coast and finance on the east)

2. the story ignores the insane COL that has out-paced wages for the non-elite on both coasts

if you mean the population has a lack of commitment to education and somehow lower class mentalities are "draconian conservative policies", then sure
