incorrect unless the vehicle has a pre/post lube oiling system. That engine oil is still sitting on that center bearing that is 1000 degrees once the motor is shut off.
Modern turbo cars with modern oils are pretty much immune to coking outside of the track and most people that track ANY car will run a cool-down lap. Trucks that are towing need some time to cool down as well. In normal road use, it just isn't a modern issue. If you track a turbo car a lot or tow with a truck something to monitor EGTs are useful, just watching the bulk oil temp is not sufficient.
As to the OP it depends on the engine and the car. NA engines sound better (turbos kill the exhaust note) and have a slight advantage in throttle response over a modern performance car with turbos. The Porsche turbo engine is quite a treat with the VTG turbos, the variable turbine geometry (stolen from OTR trucking engines) allows the turbos to at once act like a small turbo for quick spool up and a large one for more boost.
For me personally, I will take two fewer cylinders and turbocharging if for no other reason but its tuning capacity. I, however, am unusual since I tune early and often, my last Turbo S had a 3rd stage reflash, larger intercoolers, 200 cell cats and S pipes before it had 2000 miles on it.

Yea...except for v10s and v12s.

I prefer a good 2 stroke with 2 pieces of .095 string hanging off of it

It depends on how important gas mileage is to you. That’s why they use them so much now, for the added fuel mileage. If gas mileage doesn’t matter, we'd all take the bigger motor.

No shite, I had just thought to myself, looking at the little bit of light you can see, 'Wonder if anyone is even going to recognize what it is?', and the first refresh, BAM.

Worked at a Dodge dealer in the late 90s. Vipers are fast as shite but sound horrible.
Now one of the old F1 V10s or a Huracan? Sonic sex.

Cylinders any day.
I have a 13 F150. I like pipes. I wont get an ecoboost. The Coyote 5.0 V8 is plenty. I want the sound and higher expected longevity of the v8.
I had everything from the back of the Cat removed. All 3' pipe. Single in/Dual out Flowmaster Super 10. Rear pipes come out at 45' angles at the back corners. 18' long x 4 inch wide chrome tips. Loud and obnoxious AF.

Reminds me of a tshirt I used to wear to class back in the 80's:
Injection is Nice
But I'd Rather Be Blown

Depends on who designed the turbocharger.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with Turbo. Used to make it V6 but that was first year with turbo instead. I have been pleasently surprised how well it gets up and goes. Had a 2001 Camera V6 that I loved that some dumbass about killed me by running a stop sign. Car was totaled.
I did like the V6 but would buy another Turbo which I did when my wife got a Santa Fe.

Buick added an intercooler to the turbo 3.8 V-6 that solved the cooked oil problem, lag time issue, and added more hp
This change made the Buick Gran National one of the fastest production cars in the world back in 87
