my wife's best friend is OT 9 hot and has a shitty husband. i like the guy but he cheated in the past and goes on hunting/college friend trips once a month and leaves her with kids.

she and i are pretty close for our relationship, but i make damn sure to never ever ever be alone with her or have any sort of conversation about her husband's a-hole ways because i've seen this sort of stuff eff up a lot of families in the past. i don't want to ever let sin creep in the door.

Very wise. It's like a vampire. Once you invite it in even a little it will begin to drain your willpower.

Men and women cheat for a vast number of reasons. Ultimately the choice to cheat comes down to weakness though. Too weak to leave your spouse and do the things you think you want to do. Too weak to not give in to temptation.

The more options you have, the stronger you have to be. But the more options you have, the more your partner will respect you.

More proof that the OT is a former shell of itself.

Let's hope that's meant for the better. I cheated on my first two wives, A LOT, pretty much on a weekly basis with whatever caught my eye.. the first wife (7 years) b/c I was young, had money, confidence, I went after and got what I wanted, competed and conquered, always got my way.. a real Alpha male... the second wife (8 years) b/c I had more money, more confidence... to the point I didn't even bother to hide it well, I did what I wanted...when I wanted. She knew but she took it.....until she couldn't.

The BIG joke was on me, though. A lot of this "Alpha" talk on OT is anything but. (pay no attention to my recent join date.. member since '07 but original email provider went defunct) We are raised to be competitive, winners, but having "our way", winning, imposing our wills, getting what we want when we want... ultimately leaves us hard, callous, stupid actually, and unable to truly care about anyone but ourselves...altogether clueless. I have self proclaimed "alpha" friends who still live like "kings", and they all say the same thing, women are crazy, only good for one thing.

I'm thankful I finally woke up and caught a glimpse of the pathetic coward I was. I was blessed with a THIRD (!) chance in life, and while raising my kids.. 3 out 4 are daughters... I also realized women are a gift, precious, and should be treated as YOUR PRIVILEGE to have as a partner. So for you "Alpha's" in the OT, go make your wife a sandwich, give more than you take, you may be surprised what happens when they feel respected enough to treat you the same, and even if you still find she is "crazy"... you won't ever have another sleepless night, or a single moment without peace of mind.... and I'll PROMISE, your life will be better on its worst days than even the best of days when you are "king", having your way when you want it.

I might have the balls to, but certainly not the heart and brain. Only a garbage piece of shite would do that to their best friend.

There were a large group of families that ran together in Beau Chene when I was growing up. A wife of one of the couples started hooking up with the husband of one of the others. They got caught and the marriages split up with the two cheaters getting together (they are still married actually). The two cheated on spouses then immediately got together and moved into the cheating husbands house. It was really strange that they basically swapped partners but the strangest part was that both couples each had a son and daughter. The kids all went to school together and were friends. It really fricked them up and at least two of them became big time drug addicts.

I know a dude that slept with both of his wife's sisters. Both sisters thought that they were his exclusive side piece. Talk about messed up.

I talk shite on here sometimes but I could never cheat on my wife especially her best friend. The guilt would eat me up I've often wondered why guys/ women just don't get a divorce. Could you imagine bringing an STD home to your wife because you were a selfish POS.

Personally I told my husband (after this happened to someone at work) that if I ever found out he was cheating on me he could take his toothbrush and his underwear and get the hell out. I would NOT be the one leaving and our kids would NOT be going with him.

I also told him that I'd expect him to do the same to me if it was me who ever cheated on him.

Ain't happening either way so ...

Weakness is a contributing factor, but selfishness rules the day. Cheaters are selfish, they think of no one else but their own needs.

i think they're a combination of the same word. weakness, pride, selfishness, etc.

i.e. i wasn't getting what i wanted and decided to go get it, vows and family be damned.
