Holy cow is this the "justification for a higher education" poster we all had in the late 1980's?

Are they putting that boat in that water? It doesn't look all that deep.

Its something about it I don't like. What I am saying is, if I bought that land and were to build a house, it wouldn't look like this.

I can't put my finger on exactly what I don't like, but it has a trashy vibe to it.

Seems like the land is great, but that house made me feel like I was in the Big Short.

What’s really bad is the interior decorating, so maybe that’s skewing my perception of the house itself.

I am terrible at figuring out how a place will look with different interior decorating. I'm sure I've skipped over houses with a ton of potential because the interior design made it look awful.

But yeah, this house is horrible. And outdated.

It looks like there is at least $500K of deferred maintenance, so you have to figure that in. And you ABSOLUTELYT MUST determine the flood risk/bank stability.....

I'd be worried about erosion and foundation issues in the future but it seems fair.

The exterior of that house is simply horrendous. It also looks like it has been neglected as well. The interior isn't awful, but I do hate that tan brick on the inside -- it reminds me of parts of Texas like Ft. Worth.

I think it's more just a general shite design. I don't believe there was a period where anything there would have been deemed particularly fashionable.

Honest answer, housing prices are more than a little inflated right now. I would be willing to pay around half the asking price considering lot size and actual location on a major bend of the creek. There will undoubtedly be flooding on occasion. It may not affect the house, but you'll sure need to clean out the pool.
The exterior suffers a little from neglect. The siding/soffits need a good cleaning for sure. And - that's vinyl siding (as someone else has mentioned previously).

They're asking that pricing and counting on a specific type of buyer who is looking for someplace that is in a bona fide rural setting but still within a comfortable driving distance of a major city. If that's what you're looking for then jump on it, but my honest opinion is that it's significantly overpriced.

look closer at the hardwoods.

they've definitely had a good bit of traffic on them. they will need refinishing.

I'm pretty sure that purple bench in the master is a sex bench.

clearly an aging gen-xer with the sex furniture, tacky design and framed 80s poster in the dining room.

Ignoring the shopping mall conservatory... I don't see any A/C registers in this photo or any photo. Unless they're shared with the heating registers in the flooring.

There is so much to unpack in that pic. The hanging plants, the tree thing salvaged From the local mall, one little bar table overlooking the stairs. I guess the owner baw took the bumper pool table with him.
