The property is cool. The house is atrocious.
It's really architecturally pretty terrible for the setting.
Overlooking some of the furnishing and finishes, this is pretty nice:
Nothing else there seems to accentuate the pretty piece of property AT ALL.

Nah, smaller than my current house and I would be counting down the days until that river came crushing into my living room.

Only if the metal carport comes with it

Only has space for one of my 12 boats? What kind of low rent tPOS house is that?
PASS!
PASS!

The property is nice but the house is garbage.

They paid god knows how much for all the custom cut glass for the windows and couldn’t have them symmetrical?
And knowing nothing about the river where it’s at but this was the first article that popped up
Spending 2 million on a house right on the bend of a large creek seems like you’re asking for trouble

Not for $2.9MM…maybe $1MM…maybe
Looking at the pricing history they may be there by year-end. Maybe by then they will actually clean the rust stains on the back deck & siding. And what is with doing the bare minimum for an outdoor kitchen & seating area? Did they run out of money and just slapped in an Academy special for the gas grill & chairs?
And what they hell is up with the T-molding on the ground separating the rooms? Why not just have continuous floors

Pros:
Lap pool
Big green house
Cons:
Everything else
My answer is a hard no. I'd love to see what it looked like in May 2010.
They had it listed for $4.7 last year

First think I noticed was flood wall and how you can tell the ground is eroded up to the shrub line, which is all the way up to the house.
That's just eventual structural foundation issues that are inevitable.
if it was on a hilltop that sloped down to the rivers edge, then it would be safer, but not worth that kind of money IDT.

The porte cochère is way too tall and narrow. Looks really weird sticking out of the front of the house.

This is a very, very common feature for poorly designed McMansions in my experience. I don't get it but I see it all the time

Yeah, maybe at midnight. Good luck during normal business hours.

I would live there, but I wouldn’t pay anywhere near asking price. It’s hideous.

5 acres, pretty secluded area and nice views of the river but i would be worried about flooding.
When you live near water, it’s not a matter of if, but when, you’ll flood.

What’s really bad is the interior decorating, so maybe that’s skewing my perception of the house itself. But then there’s not much I like with the interior of the home, so maybe it’s both and house with that design is just hard to adequately decorate. Like I guess it’s the dining room where there are modern pendant style lights, and a 70’s/80’s dining room table. Just awful.

I would white wash that ugly brick color they chose.

Surprised we haven't gotten any "my butler has been looking for a 2nd home" comments yet.
As it were, my butler has been looking for a 2nd home so I directed him to this link.

With all that beautiful land, why would you shove the house onto the river bank? Push it forward 30 feet and you would have a better angle and more room to enjoy the amazing waterfall and river.
The back is God awful in everyway. Two deck areas cantilevered in three places that offers no protection for the outdoor kitchen, an uncovered upper deck too small to be usable, a mixed collection of weirdly sized and shaped windows, a useless brick ledge above the river bank but below the main deck, the 4 wheeler storage area that looks like it has a gravel floor and smells musty from all the way over here.
The front is a mess as well. A pool in the middle of the driveway lined with tall bushes that block any view of the gorgeous property, a porte cochere that looks like the handle on a ping pong paddle, and no built in garage made up for by a storage shed that was purchased from a home depot parking lot.
The property is amazing. Its a shame it was basically ruined by bad decision after bad decision in the home design phase.
EDIT
Never mind on the lack of built in garage. Apparently there is a large one with side entrance which the stupid realtor did not think to show in any photos.
This looks like the back of an apartment complex on Gardere, complete with a sagging deck, large rusting pipe and pipe support, vinyl siding, galvanized deck railing, and aggregate exposed concrete areas.
