Is there a link to the actual science used to establish this as written language and dating?

Ancient civilizations are a fun rabbit hole to go down. Seems we’re getting more and more evidence that human civilizations existed much earlier than our current estimates.

Don’t know about writing. It does look like a receipt or counting something…like pelts or women.

Cool, but I don’t know that I call that writing. That looks more like counting if anything (assuming it’s not just decorative), and I don’t know that we could call tick marks writing.

What's funny is that this is going to be amplified through the game of telephone via certain online echo chambers and end up being "proof" of an advanced human civilization, THEN when pushed on the absurdity, they will pivot hard on the "advanced" language.

I hope it is but kind of just looks like counting. Maybe an ancient inventory list or keeping track of sunrises. Maybe the caves were a prison of sorts and old baw was tracking how long he had been in there.

The "Out of Africa" theory has been taking huge shots that poke holes in it the past several years.

Something happened to the brains of the humans in that region, and intelligence exploded.

That is pretty pristine to have been laying around for 30,000 years - must have had it in a pretty protected spot.

I would assume in colder climates it was a necessity to cook meat because you can't eat it frozen.

38,000 years is just an educated guess based on carbon dating.
