Women don't want to be married, they just want a wedding.

Had this hot take dropped on me today. I think it could very well be true. Still pondering it though.
eta, it was a chick who said this btw.

Most women just like to be the center of attention tbh.

On a macro level, women have no idea what they want.

I went to this "wedding" where 3 chicks that were in their early 30s and spinsters had a mock wedding with some guys from an acting agency. It was pretty sad

'Woman' is singular. Women notice that sort of thing.

This is very true. The first sign that you shouldn’t marry a woman is if she wants a huge wedding.

Oh they want to be married. For no other reason than to not be the pathetic single girl.

Depends on if her daddy is rich

this is true. I have seen it countless times before. Or they feel they need to be married for religious reasons and pop out a lot of catholic babies

I just spit out my coffee after reading the first two serious answers then scrolling to this gem.

It's always concerning to me when single women act like their job is fulfilling to them. Everyone can tell they are hurting inside and wish they were married

Its not a hot take at all, it's just true.

Crazy arse hoes. That's all they are.

This was completely true in my case. My relationship with my ex-fiance started going downhill as soon as wedding planning began. She got such ridiculous anxiety over this stupid party that I eventually asked her that very thing: "Do you want to be married to me or do you just want a wedding?"

I'd honestly rather cut off a pinky finger than have another wedding. I'm not knocking any woman who does; I just really, really dislike being the center of attention.

I think there is truth to this for a lot of women. Think about it. Many of them grow up with adult women talking to them about being princesses and watching movies/shows in which it's all about "that special day". As they grow up and they go to weddings and all the talk is about the bride's dress, flowers, pictures and how her hair was fixed. It's all about having the right colors and who the bride's wedding party will be matched up with the groom's wedding party. And then after the wedding, there is this big celebration centered around her and her groom..
Do you ever see the groom as into the wedding planning as the bride? Sure, there are guys out there who are as involved and might be just as excited, but I am talking about the average situation? The groom is just another piece of the puzzle to the "special celebration". I would be willing to say that half of the divorces in the US could probably be traced back to the fact the bride was eager to have that special day.

My wife wanted to "be married" more than she wanted the wedding.
Honestly, her desire to stop saying "boyfriend" as a professional adult may have been a more important motivating factor than anything else, her love for me included.
