From the article.. those LEOs really didn't give a shite.

quote:

Deputies surveilling the home after the woman went inside assumed she “must be OK” because someone else entered after her to buy drugs, said Lt. Mark Parker, the ranking officer in the operation.

Parker, who retired this month, told the AP that the sheriff's office didn't start using equipment capable of monitoring in real time until after the alleged rape, and often would send informants into stings without any recording equipment at all.

“We've always done it this way," Parker said. “She was an addict and we just used her as an informant like we’ve done a million times before. Looking back, it's easy to say, 'What if?'"

Now that they know it’s definitely a drug dealers house, the Police ought to fire some tear gas canisters in there and arrest them when they try to escape.

Give her the deputies entire pensions.

I personally think if states would enforce a variation of a law that says when an officer is sued, the monies awarded would come from the officer AND the agency that they are employed’s pension funds …that would help weed out the “bad” cops because the good cops would help identify them because their personal financial future is connected

Holy shite. There has to be some chance of criminal negligence here.

You think that's twice like 2 halves of a whole or twice like 2 complete bj's?

In the good ole days they would have busted into Mississippi's place and meted out justice without using a CI for bait.

Okay so I'm about to plead complete ignorance here. I know nothing about law enforcement other than what I see on TV.

All those movies I've seen where someone is going undercover and their crew is down the street in a white van with a live audio/video feeding them what to say via the earpiece.

Is that all just fake. Do we honestly not have the capability to atleast do live audio in these situations.

Holy shite.

It’s one thing for the cops to think that way… but man, read the room. Imagine saying this to the AP reporter writing a story about your CI that got raped.

Everyone involved with that sting should be suspended or fired…there is no way any person, let alone cops who see violent depraved shite everyday, wouldn’t consider a fine upstanding citizen who dealt meth a potential rapist as well. And there is no excuse to not have a mic that would transmit to a team near by…if you’re going to record audio, why in the hell wouldn’t you also have a live feed to listen in on for these situations? Incompetency at levels that shouldn’t even be possible.
they don't have budget for this but they have a complete fleet of new tahoes i bet.

It would. Right now, they can be accused, retire, and collect 100%.

And no one thought to do a trial run with the equipment?

Dude should just resign.

“I mean she was just an addict. She’s lucky we didn’t swoop in and hit it from behind while she was servicing Mississippi.”
