Woman raped twice after Louisiana deputies sent her undercover in unmonitored drug deal

A woman outfitted with a tiny microphone and hidden camera walked up to a dilapidated drug house on a chilly afternoon last year looking to buy meth from a dealer known on the streets as “Mississippi.”
But as the informant disappeared inside with a career criminal with a rap sheet spanning three decades, her law enforcement handlers left her undercover on her own — unprotected and unmonitored in real time. And the devices she carried passively recorded a crime far more horrific than any drug buy.
Under threat of violence, the dealer forced the woman to perform oral sex on him — twice — in an attack so brazen he paused at one point to conduct a separate drug deal, according to interviews and confidential law enforcement records obtained by The Associated Press.
“It was one of the worst depictions of sexual abuse I have ever seen,” said a local official who viewed the footage and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the ongoing case.
“Just the audio from it is enough to turn your stomach,” the official said. “It’s a female being sexually brutalized while she’s crying and whimpering.”
Even as the woman cried and her assailant threatened to put her “in the hospital,” narcotics deputies remained down the block in the blighted neighborhood, unaware of what was going on. That’s because, as authorities told the AP, they never considered such an attack might happen and the devices the woman carried didn’t have the ability to transmit the operation to law enforcement in real time.

WTF good is under cover surveillance then? Not live? They planned on viewing it later or what? Stupid shite here/

Give her the deputies entire pensions.

my dark sense of humor has me laughing inside...well done
the actual situation is fricked up though. How did they just let her go into that situation without live monitoring

So the plan was to send her in wired and with video to catch a drug deal with no plan in place if something goes wrong? This situation already covered the "what happened if she gets raped, but no thoughts about what would have happened had the dealer found the devices? All while LEs were just sitting in their cars hanging out in a safe environment

She was in that position b/c she was busted for meth already and was a CI trying to flip Mr Mississippi. She could have refused that 'deal' and taken her punishment.
I know 4 people who've been in her situation 'working' for the cops but they were all guys and nothing bad happened to them fortunately.

Kids, don’t do drugs. Don’t get involved with these people.

That's exactly how they treat CI's. I know this close to firsthand as you can get without doing it myself.
Trust me, the parents and relatives of these CI's, if they have loved ones, are constantly worried about them. There is JACK shite for protection. The cops give them money/drugs and a wire to conduct a transaction while they wait down the road in a safe spot. You'd think in this day and age the technology would ensure this happens with real-time monitoring of said transactions.

They left that informant out to dry. That's really, really disgusting.
She needs to sue the ever living frick out of the department.

Everyone involved with that sting should be suspended or fired…there is no way any person, let alone cops who see violent depraved shite everyday, wouldn’t consider a fine upstanding citizen who dealt meth a potential rapist as well. And there is no excuse to not have a mic that would transmit to a team near by…if you’re going to record audio, why in the hell wouldn’t you also have a live feed to listen in on for these situations? Incompetency at levels that shouldn’t even be possible.

I can't recall the actual verbiage of the consent forms and waivers they have to sign. But you basically sign off on all liability of the law enforcement agency you're 'working' for in exchange for the possibility of a lighter punishment for your own crime.
I do hope she gets some justice and definitely let off on her prior charges.

They don't see CI's as peers or even decent human beings with families and futures of their own. They see CI's simply as bait to catch bigger fish. The resources provided to these critical players in the War on Drugs is peanuts compared to what they'd do for actual LEOs.
