Fayette County is feeling it on the north side. Started in 2008 when Clayton County Schools lost their accreditation. Many moved in and started renting and it has grown since. 314 north of Fayetteville is a dump.
The northern schools in the county have a lot of kids who "live with their aunty" and attend school in the county. Sandy Creek sports sure have benefitted from it though.

re: Looking for recommendations for Cape Town

La Petite Colombe was one of my favorite meals ever. Leeu Passant winery where it sits also makes some fantastic wines.
In Cape Town we stayed at the Hyatt Regency near Bo Kap, booked the aforementioned suite for 15,000 points (pre devaluation). Area was fine but we weren’t out and about after dark. We used Uber extensively and never had an issue, ridiculously cheap too.
Cape of Good Hope was cool and worth the visit.
All in all I loved Cape Town, Franschoek was also special. Just did those two cities.

Northern Virginia has been an epicenter for data centers since the early 2000s. When I left Prince William County in 2004 they were being built all over PW and Loudon Counties. At the time they were a boon for my parents in subsidizing property taxes.. no clue if that’s still the case in Va.
All of a sudden they are just now this terrible phenomenon? I can understand folks don’t want the land near them developed for anything… but that is the beauty of property rights. The folks that own the land can do with it what they please.
I love the clearly AI generated anti data center posts on the socials as well.

That is wild… but not at all surprising. As long as debt is cheap/easy manufacturers will continue to sell more expensive vehicles. The bubble has to burst at some point.
Doesn’t matter what religion we are talking about, non Christians do not mix with Christian societies… and vice versa.
re: Will there be social unrest when monthly social security checks are cut by 22% in 2032?

The boomers chose to raid social security to fund other things rather than stabilizing their nest egg.
I have zero sympathy for the boomers who rely on that as their primary source of income. Should have planned better or taken better care of it when electing folks to set that policy.
I am fully aware that my stance is draconian, but frick them. They are mortgaging our future for their benefit. This society needs to learn to live within its means and not subsidize it off of cheap(ish) debt.

Certainteed versus Tamko Shingles
Posted by SM6 on 6/5/26 at 4:01 pm
Getting the roof replaced by insurance. I had a three tab and the contractor will upgrade to Tamko architectural shingles free of charge. A few neighbors got Certainteed, a brand I am more familiar with and which look great. Incremental cost is not too bag. $50 a square, so about $1,500 total in my case.
Internet reviews are all over the place. Curious if the board has any recommendation or warning. I’m leaning towards paying for the upgrade but open to suggestions.

re: Graduation theme. What was your salary at your first “real” job?

After a year living at home working as a substitute teacher to pay my loans, I landed a consulting job at 45K in 2009 with an LSU liberal arts degree. I thought I was lucky as hell at the time.
Also, you need to go to Acadia.. not Montreal. Check out New Brunswick and get back to us. Trailer park boys is a great show and could easily be recast in Louisiana.

This site has the Boise State roster at $24.5 mil.
If this thing is close to accurate, that’s wild.

Some of yall need to get out and interact with people not like yourself.
There are bad Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and yes… Christians even. To paint entire religions or ethnicities because that is all your social media algorithm knows or your chosen news source pushes is just sad.
Shitty people come in all shades and creeds, but so do the good ones.

I finally got all that alcohol I can't afford
With red lights flashin', time to retire
And then we turned that liquor store into a structure fire
I lived in Irvine during the riots. Removed from it all but I didn’t realize the extent. What a wild time.

This shite happens for Israel as well, but we don’t arrest them. We elect them.

Fares will creep up further.
Also, a lot of folks going to be out on the street looking for work.

The fact that this dipshit in office brings that back to his beef with the Pope is mind boggling.
His priorities this term are pretty clearly:
1. Ego
2. Making sure family and friends get paid
3. Doing whatever Israel says
2 and 3 are probably interchangeable
I can't believe I voted for this, yet given the choice of him or Kamala again, I'd vote for him once more. What a world we live in :casty:

Utility rates in the NE are astronomical, among the highest in the nation. No data center is seriously looking at Maine, it is performative.
That said, our economy needs something to differentiate us and sustain our quality of life. We are largely a services economy now, manufacturing long ago flew the coop. Technology is one avenue we can continue to lead the world in and hopefully maintain our standard of living (despite the massive debt we have saddled future generations with).
We need bold leadership exploring nuclear power, technology, and informatics. Instead we are saddled with a cacophony of dipshits that are more concerned with identity politics, cashing that AIPAC check, and whitewashing the Epstein files.
If this is the best we as an electorate can do, we deserve the shite we end up in. I hate it for my kids.
