Utility rates in the NE are astronomical, among the highest in the nation. No data center is seriously looking at Maine, it is performative.
That said, our economy needs something to differentiate us and sustain our quality of life. We are largely a services economy now, manufacturing long ago flew the coop. Technology is one avenue we can continue to lead the world in and hopefully maintain our standard of living (despite the massive debt we have saddled future generations with).
We need bold leadership exploring nuclear power, technology, and informatics. Instead we are saddled with a cacophony of dipshits that are more concerned with identity politics, cashing that AIPAC check, and whitewashing the Epstein files.
If this is the best we as an electorate can do, we deserve the shite we end up in. I hate it for my kids.

Pat Hall looks shook as hell. I think he knows he fricked up.
Sbarro and Orange Julius stock prices finna eat!
I use holly tone for my hydrangeas, but I know it’s not the cheapest.
.....and documented it all for the 'gram!
Delta Air Lines is in the midst of a RIF as well. Cutting middle management positions, some will be replaced by junior employees, some automated.
It’s tough out there in Corporate America too.
Our elected leaders are in for a reckoning this fall. Unfortunately I doubt their replacements will be much better.

re: My Thoughts After Knee Replacement
Posted by SM6 on 3/25/26 at 12:32 pm to zuluboudreaux
My 70 year old mother had her replaced last year. She was in good shape and active. First week was really rough but she persevered through the PT (started her day 2 or 3) with the help of the pain meds.
She was diligent with PT, and did the exercises at home as prescribed. She complained about the pain a lot but stuck with it. She is pain free and has 90+% of motion back in her knee.
As with many ortho procedures, if you are in decent shape, the PT is going to be the difference between success and disappointment.

Funny how as soon as the mission expanded from bombing Iran and killing it's leadership to dealing with the fall out (reopening the Straight of Hormuz), the main instigator, Israel, is nowhere to be found.
Not my first choice but I have had it before and it is delicious. Mild meat very tender

Being a dad to girls is a ton of fun. Set the example of what they should expect from men and work hard to build their self confidence (the world will do more than enough to try to tear it down).
Also read The Anxious Generation. Not to scare you, but give yourself perspective about how kids are engaged by social media and the internet today. Lots of challenges that we never had to deal with or even consider.

I don’t know if there is a broad euphemism for it, but my college friend from Houston frequently talked about how much he loved the “purple puss”.
That always made me laugh.

When painting over a darker or even similar color I have always done two coats of primer. Primer is much cheaper than the paint we would use and I’d rather do an extra coat of primer than a third of the actual color.
It’s a pain in the arse, but such is the challenge when painting over a dark color.
Green frog tape too, much better than the blue tape.

My bill in GA has been up year over year as well.
Natural gas prices are up this year, certainly impacting prices for the end users like us.

Too many small town cops are one step above criminals themselves. Power hungry, zero accountability.
It tarnishes the reputation of good police officers.

re: Dryer Balls - Why are women so gullible?

We use them, put a few drops of lavender essential oil on them before drying sheets and towels.
They eliminate the static, and don’t contain the chemicals that dryer sheets do. I was kinda shocked at the shite in those dryer sheets… I can kill static and add a scent with dryer balls.

Induction Cooktop Cookware Advice
Posted by SM6 on 2/15/26 at 7:17 am
Inspired by the electric range subject, can anyone with an induction cooktop recommend a “type’ nonstick pan for use on it?
I have been reading carbon steel is the way to go. When we moved into this house a few years ago I brought my pretty new All Clad nonstick pans with me, but the nonstick surface has been deteriorating from the center out. I am originally thought it was due to not cleaning them thoroughly, but that is probably wrong. Just need a nice saute pan 10-12”

We are seeing price increases in Georgia as well. Not sure of the percentages off hand but it has crept up.
Natural gas prices are also higher… and as we export more they will skew higher. American energy needs to stay in America to lessen the cost of goods and manufacturing and improve the cost of living (certain politicians be damned).

Saints in Paris likely 12/13

Not sure if this has been discussed, but Air France just loaded nonstop flights on 12/11 and 12/15. Pretty reasonable fares right now if you want to jump.
Trent Reznor is an all time great musical mind.

Take a psyllium fiber supplement. It'll keep you flowing normally, naturally, and easily.
