I seems like the situation is Lane told them he is going to LSU at the conclusion of the season but wants to finish the season at Ole Miss. The AD told him to GTFO and leave. Lane said you’d have to fire me (and pay me), AD realizes Lane has them by the balls. Hence the standoff. Either pay Lane take the LSU job, which would be the ultimate kick in the nuts, or let him coach a team that probably doesn’t want him.

Bingo. They are all self serving crooks, some just say things we like more than the other guys. Regardless of party they are petulant children who refuse to work together or compromise. I miss the 90s when at least the two parties would find common ground and then throw each other a bone or two on a partisan issue.

Talk to me about the West Bank then... they have played by Israel/the West's rules. They haven't gotten anything resembling self governance and self determination. Hell Israel is STILL building settlements in land that was earmarked for a Palestinian self rule.

Israel's solution to the Palestinian question is to remove them entirely. Either through emigration or other means.

Flight is oversold and they are trying to get ahead of it. I suspect they figure a decent part of their passenger base would view that as a good offer and take it. :casty:

Delta will occasionally offer the same thing at check in where you either select what you would take to voluntarily bump off a flight (like $50-150), or you input the number.

I used to game the system and get bumped off flights after buying a Y fare when I was a kid.

Oversold flights are WAY less prevalent these days thanks to much more sophisticated revenue management practices at airlines. However, after the incident in Chicago a few years back when flights are oversold and they need volunteers at the gate... the compensation can grow very big.

Friendly note, if you are ever INVOLUNTARILY denied boarding due to an oversold flight (very rare), look up "DOT CFR Part 250" the Federal law which covers your rights and the airline's obligations in those situations. It protects the passenger fairly well.

Drove from Dubrovnik to Perast, albeit a short trip it was super easy. Some rental agencies won't let you take the car out of the country (or the E.U.), so check into that when booking. If you plan the stops and lodging I don't think you will have any issues. Border crossing into Montenegro (the only non-E.U. country you'll hit) was slow, and the guy didn't speak great English but google translate worked fine. I'd recommend that crossing early before traffic gets bad.

Beautiful part of the country, that trip sounds like a blast.
