i had a friend that had one growing up. they had to have a fence over the top of their back yard to keep it form escaping. seems like a lot of work. just get a husky and pretend its a wolf.

My dad found a few in the woods. Gave them to me and my half siblings. Step mom didn't really like them too much and dad thought they were a pain in the arse but we kept them and raised them right. They are very protective! Can't tell you how many times mine has gotten me out of some hairy situations! Also they are good for very cold environments and you can cut them like loose in the woods but somehow in critical moments they find their way back to help.

They are shitty dogs. I have been around 5 of them over the years. They are skittish and get incredibly aggressive around food. As pets there is no worse breed.

Seems like you would just be opening yourself up to tons of lawsuits with that as a pet.

if it's your first dog then no.
if you don't have a good fenced yard then no.
if you have dont experience with the breed then no.
if you cant walk it an hour a day or more then no.

They are a lot of work. Like someone said, they are also escape experts. I have one that is half wolf and she is so athletic that she typically can find a way to get out. Also has a ton of energy so if they don't have room to roam I wouldn't do it. Also you need to read up on establishing dominance.

I have one, and all of my siblings have had or still have one as well. Mine, named Ghost, has been a great companion. He was an albino with red eyes, and the runt of the litter. I have brought him with me pretty much everywhere, most recently back home.
My youngest sister, Arya, has the only other one that is still alive of all me and my 5 siblings. Hers, named Nymeria, ran off a few years back after attacking some punk kid who was messing my sister. I don't know exactly where she is now, but I think she's gone South and has been spotted a few times near the Riverlands.

My friend's family had one. His brother got it while he was in Maine and I think it lived about 15 years. Legit wolf. Brown and yellow eyes, huge paws, and was not scared to chase down a buck in the woods. It was a super nice dog but it ran in to me going full speed and I did a flip. Raw power

My uncle raised two he found in a barn in CO. They didn't even have they're eyes open when we found them. Mother must have abandoned them.
Anywho. They lived to be great pets, but they were escape artist as mentioned. He had a large pen he would keep them in during the day and at night they were inside pets. When he would let them out of the pen they would run off, but never failed, they would come back in a few hrs or if he called to them. He lived on about 40 acres so they had plenty of room to roam. Occasionally they would kill stuff and drag the carcass to the house. Bottom line, Wolves gonna wolves.
