re: Will this really work? Ford to lose $3 billion this year on EV sales?

With propane, the tanks are cheap and the propane to refill is cheap and refilling is quick and simple.
I am curious if a compressed air generator charging the batteries would produce enough to extend the range of electric vehicles.
I think steam is clearly the answer.

Site your basis for this claim. Tesla sold as many cars as they would make in 2022. It was over 1.25 million model Y and 3. In California Tesla is THE best selling car. There are more Teslas sold in CA than any other car.

We didn’t know that our wiring harness for Mach-E was 1.6 kilometers longer than it needed to be.
Longer? I'm guessing they didn't reduce waste by a lot, so most electric vehicles probably have miles worth of wiring. Electrical problems can be a bitch to fix on an ICE vehicle. Good luck finding that short on an EV.

Will advancements occur that make EVs attractive to customers, yes. The problem is the government is heavily pushing the issue and the technology to compete with ICE for a large portion of their customers isn't there.

If I were the owner of FoMoCo I would immediately fire my entire management team. EV's violate Henry Ford's original plan of making a vehicle that the average American could afford.
The production of the batteries are unethical because they rely on the mining of cobalt done by small children who are basically treated as slaves.

Tesla sold 1,250,000 model 3 and Y in 2022...Yeah...clearly people hate them
That is a long way from the roughly 13.75 million light vehicles sold in 2022.
People that want a Tesla can get one.
I don’t see how Tesla will corner the rest of the market.

Who said Tesla will "corner the market"??? This is just about all the OT baws who think just because their old dusty asses don't want an EV that nobody else wants one.

Anyone know why EV's didn't take the propane approach? Just roll up and swap out your battery for another charged one? I get charging at the house overnight, but traveling must be awful.
some companies do this with their electric forklifts but is less of thing now that fast charging is more common
Batteries are expensive and have a shelf life. swapping them at charging stations wouldn't make much sense

Funny you should ask this. It is being trialed overseas now. Pretty crazy!
Battery Swap
That's pretty cool. I didn't watch the entire video, did he talk about how much each battery swap cost?

People that want EV’s can go buy one if they want.
That doesn’t automatically mean that the rest of the buying public will follow suit.
The performance and price are simply not there to compel most consumers to switch from ICE to EV.
You act like this is a supply issue, but it’s not.

Coal powered cars that can’t be cost-effectively fixed or repaired for everyone!
You mean natural gas, coal will be below nuke soon if it isn't already in power production. When you tie all the renewables together like hydro/wind/solar/geo, they produce more than coal as well. Coal will barely be in the equation by the end of the decade. My area is planning to have it all gone by 2026. Sad we are phasing it out so quickly and we will come to regret it.

Go back and fix your thread title. You blatantly lied, got caught, and admitted to it. This is your HHTM moment.

You and every other OT baw act like people don't want EVs but clearly they do. They sell as many as they can make and their production keeps going up significantly year over year.

Once EV owners start realizing their new toy has zero re-sale value, likely is a total in most wrecks and has a definitive shelf life on top of the other drawbacks, they'll become much less attractive without the government forcing the issue, which they ARE doing.
The power grid isn't ready for widespread use of these things. The materials are not easily obtained and require enough third world slave labor or new domestic mining to make a bad joke out of the "green" argument. People are quickly going to tire of waiting in long lines for a near hour recharge.
I can't see this any other way than the federal government purposefully trying to crash independent transportation and force people into metro areas. Federal subsidies will be the only thing keeping these auto companies going if this continues.

That's the only one I would even consider.

Why do you have such a hard on for EVs? It's not a competition in here, just a discussion on Ford taking a loss on EVs. EVs don't yet meet the needs of most people, for purpose and cost. Don't get your panties in a mess over that statement, it doesn't mean everyone is anti EV.

That's what I say to all you old dusty arse baws who have never even sat in a Tesla much less had the opportunity to drive one.
