Well sounds like all the black people need to go back to Mother Africa. Problem solved.

Negative. One of my dogs, I rescued from BTR shelter. It was supposed to be euthanized the next day. It was an owner surrender, meaning their name and address is on the intake form. Owner name was something like LaToya, with an address near Tony’s Seafood. Dog’s original name was Ebony.
I’m glad LaToya surrendered the dog (to almost be euthanized), because she and her family tied it to a tree damaging its throat (not permanently thankfully). It was also emaciated.
one of the biggest examples in the story:
quote:
Tammy, the same resident who said dogs served as “connectors” in the neighborhood, disliked that her Latino neighbors wouldn’t let their dog into the house, leaving her tied up in the backyard.
...
Tammy said that she always intervened whenever she saw dogs mistreated in the neighborhood. However, the only examples she shared during our interview involved Latino families.
Latino families are not the only Creekridge Park residents who tied up their dogs. The practice is common enough across Durham that a local group was formed in 2007 to build free dog fences.
notice how the author tries to imply this is also common among white owners in the area, but doesn't have the data to say that so it's left purposefully ambiguous for the implication (and to avoid being negative towards 2 minority groups the article is trying to protect)

99% of this stuff used to make me laugh because I couldn’t believe enough people believed it to actually publish “studies”
but I think rather than trying to refute it in good faith, it’s time for normal white people to just say frick off

Cayde-6 appears to be a bit sloppy and lazy with his post. In his section and response
He appears to link to an article supporting his claim that Eurasians shipped off and given domesticated dogs to Europeans. His link directs to a bio for Prof. Greger Larson at the University of Oxford, but still no direct link to the article which supports his argument. One of three links on Prof. Larson's page is " Deciphering Dog Domestication through a Combined Ancient DNA and Geometric Morphometric Approach", which still doesn't provide any support for Cayde-6's argument. Only after you click on the Visit Project link you are redirected to a website Palaeo Barn, which again doesn't address the claim that Eurasians shipped and gave domesticated dogs to Europeans. Only after some more digging can one find any articles about studying mitochondrial DNA of ancient domestic dogs found in Europe and tracing it back to Western Eurasia from the Neolithic time period.
Typically I find myself supporting ideas that are Left of Center on the social spectrum, but this particular argument is too much and too weak for me to support. I also feel link I did more work in typing this post that Cayde-6 completed in supporting his argument.

What actually happened?
Shortly after the Eurasian people worked so hard to train and bond with wolves, most of them were shipped off and given to Europeans.

Where do y’all find this crap? That website is like a month old, with only 4 garbage posts, and absolutely no about/background information provided. Seriously, how does anyone even locate this type of garbage opinion? Site feels like it was invented solely for making Americans look crazy.
If I had to guess, this is likely Chinese propaganda to make Americans hate each other more.

Nope.
I would say “die” but leaving money to other white people is racist too.

Dogs are and always will be the living reminder of how tainted our history is as a whole. POC deserve to exclusively own dogs as a form of restitution for their stolen ancestor’s work. Supporting the idea of white dog ownership is spitting on the grave of past POC generations.
With International Dog Day coming up, it is important we remember and advocate for the work of POC, and never let this unbalanced history be forgotten.
If you are white and own a canine, please consider donating them to a local POC family or non kill shelter so it can truly find the perfect home.
Well. shite. Give me a minute to finish my chicken biscuit and I'll run back home and get Teddy and his stuff together and we'll drive around until I find a black family's house to leave him at.
I'll miss him a lot - we had some good times in the three years we've been together. He always attracted a lot of strange when I walked him and took him on the boat and he loved the attention and to swim and play. But he's a black goldendoodle and this writer is probably right. Ted'll probably wonder why I left him and be frantic and confused as he's getting eaten by a pack of pits, but I'll know that what I'm doing is noble. It's certainly a higher calling than letting him lay around my house and office all day being fully content, with free choice food and water, and lots of toys to play with.
And for the better good.

This. Reminds me of a "study" some guy wrote about how owning dogs means you support rape culture because some dogs will just start humping other dogs. The dude made everything up and submitted his study to some female empowerment journalism group and they actually gave him an award for it He then told them he made everything up just to show how stupid all of that crap is and they were not happy

Nice random "blog" with three articles.
