Humans don’t care about what ifs 200, 300, or 500 years from now.

They care about the cost of gas, eggs, diesel, and mortgage rates right now.

I haven’t been in there in ages. I dunno if they have a de facto zero tolerance for leftists, but I do know they really hit on them when they shite stir, and that’s Tuba’s Whole schtick. Even more than SFP.

I deleted my "Tuba DR LOL" graphic last month because I was cleaning out old files and didn't expect to need it again.

Sorry folks. Might be my fault this assclown returned.

I'm an old school lib and I haven't been banned.

I'm basically the guy in the meme who stayed in the same spot and the pink haired groomer is calling me a Nazi while the conservative is chuckling.

So you are a Republican? It blows my mind that the Southern Democrats of my youth are directly in line with the new Republican Party platform.

The surface is surrounded by an atmosphere in section 3, which explicitly includes evaporation and sensible heat as well as radiation. The 255 K value is the effective temperature corresponding to the whole planet's radiation escaping to space.

sigma*T^4 describes emitted blackbody radiation; it doesn't say radiation is the surface's only heat-transfer pathway. Atmospheric absorption and emission are included separately.

NASA's energy-budget explanation shows the separate surface, atmosphere and space budgets.

Asphalt and concrete can make cities warmer than nearby countryside; urban heat islands are real. They change sunlight absorption, evaporation and heat storage.

The calculation here concerns the whole planet, including oceans and rural land, using Earth's overall measured reflectivity. Urban warming doesn't account for the atmosphere's independently observed absorption and emission of infrared.
