Read Tom Wolfe’s From Bauhaus to Our House. It’s the best indictment of postwar architecture ever put to paper.
Bolshevists in most cases almost exclusively of a certain religion/ ethnicity were at the heart of subverting classical art in Germany and Europe as a whole.

People like to distinguish themselves.
Everything you listed is easy to change.

I was thinking about this very question while in Chicago. When's the last time we built anything as ornate and expressive as the Wrigley Building or the Tribune Building?
All of the high rises under construction look the same. Just boring blocks that will eventually have glass all over them. I'm sure the views out of those rooms will be glorious, but our sense of art has certainly diminished.

I'm wondering the same thing about why are so many home builders going with the white/black exterior color schemes.

I guess. WWII was a long time ago. Go back another 85 years prior to WWII and compare that to WWII. I’m guessing even more difference.

Differences in style, but not in redeeming value. They’re not a soul sucking pieces of disposable garbage, and we know who they were. They lived here.
