Yep. Couldn't pay me to go back. Not everyone from small towns wants to be there forever.

Few people want to be there 15-30

But they're great if you're a kid, or no longer obsessed with partying every night

The same could happen in a larger town/city if you know your neighbors well and are active in your church fwiw.

Much less likely.

20's are for grinding, 30's are for building, 40's are for relaxing.

When you get older, you will have much different opinions on almost everything.

You mean you wouldn't pay for these prices?

Not counting my time in the military (military towns near bases cannot be compared to small civilian towns), BR was the smallest town I ever lived in. My wife and I lived really close to LSU because we were both students.

Grew up in Queens, live in Manhattan now. I love it a lot, but a lot of stuff that grinds my gears too.

When I’m old, I’m probably going to move to Westchester for sure.

Just moved from Houma to a smaller town in Mississippi. I wanted a slower pace of life with more space. Also wanted to try and shelter my kids from “urban” problems. Now I can wake up and walk to the back and catch a bass if I want.

As my wife told my brother-in-law yesterday when he asked if we will move eventually from where we are - "No, my husband likes to pee off the front porch".

She's right you know.

I was born in a small town. And I can breathe in a small town. Gonna die in a small town. That's probably where they'll bury me.

I feel a lot different about things at 40 than I did at 25. I don't like big crowds anymore.

Same here. I actually wanted to move to NYC at one point in my 20's.

Small town life kinda of sucks unless you have kids and don't like to do anything, and your idea of going out is Red Lobster.

Living in a huge city can suck because you have to plan around travel. You end up adding an extra hour to your plans because it takes forever to get anywhere.

I've lived in big cities, small cities, and something in between. I prefer to live in a moderately sized city that is close enough to large metro areas so I can always have stuff to do if I choose.

totally agree, Pecker. Shreveport has been perfect for what I want out life right now. I can easily bike or in less than five minutes drive to downtown and park in a breeze. There is almost something going on, or I could drive about 30 minutes to the in-laws land if I feel like fishing and saying frick everyone. Traffic don't exist here, I'm never bored, and I never have to go out to eat at red lobster
