Because their parents are idiots and let them get away with it. My dad would have kicked the shite out of me if I walked out wearing a hoodie in the summer just for being stupid and wanting to style.

My kid does this. Middle of the summer and 95 degrees and she'll wear a hoodie to school. He says it's freezing in the building.

When I was in school, some people did it so that they didn’t have to wear their uniform shirt. Along with some of the other reasons listed above

The same reason they wear shorts and sandals when it is 20 degrees outside and they have purple toes...because they want to be cool.

I noticed this heavily in my community this Summer, and it seemed to be skater kids, we have a community skate park nearby, and that's where I typically saw it. So I thought it was so when they bust arse, it doesn't frick their skin up as much.

We did it when I was in high school because school dress code dictated that shirts are to be tucked in.
Ain't nobody said nothing about a hoodie.

Is the need to try and individualize/accessorize so great that they are willing to be uncomfortable??

I want to know why younger people are pulling their socks up to just under their calves. Next step is that 70s shite of socks over the calves.
