Why do teenagers and junior highers wear hoodies-jackets in summer??

Is the need to try and individualize/accessorize so great that they are willing to be uncomfortable??
Just a genuine question, doesn't matter either way...

Because teenagers are fricking stupid

My kid does this. Middle of the summer and 95 degrees and she'll wear a hoodie to school. She says it's freezing in the building.

I asked my high school kid this. I was told it’s because in the school the temp is cool but more importantly it’s a way to express their own clothes choice. Public school here requires a uniform but the students can wear any jacket or pullover they like.

Because most school buildings are kept stupid cold. I always had a hoodie in my bookbag no matter how hot it was outside because the school was always cold.

My kids will wear it because it gets cold in their classroom. I’ll wear it to work as well. My office is an icebox.

Another question. What's with the hoodie T-shirt?

I live in central Florida and see kids walking down the street in them....itll be heat index in the 100s and theyll have them on outside

This happens because the lard-asses and menopausal women who've usurped control of the thermostat want it to be 64 degrees all the time.
I have this problem at work and I'm not even that skinny. Can't imagine wearing short sleeves in that meat locker.

I was at a HS football game two weeks ago and it was easily 90 at the game that night. Kids were wearing hoodies and sweaters. What the hell?

Hoodlum thug culture has taken over American youth. It’s disgraceful

Yep. It's not just at school. I would die in a hoodie in July.

Yeah my 15 year old has been doing this the last few years. I don’t get it. His older brother and sister (19 & 23) didn’t do this.
Probably has something to do with the current media brainwashing style.

It’s because they identify with winter more than summer. Don’t judge.
Posted on 10/1/19 at 7:12 pm to Ignignot
They wear them because they have a cool that you just can't understand, because you were never their age.

Man I’d love to know the answer to that too.
