You Tundra guys are so ill informed about the competition but just run with whatever talking points that suit you.

Not a Tundra guy so torque down some. I was a GM guy who did not like the current offerings or powertrain ratings over an extended period of the big 3 when I recently purchased a new vehicle so I went with a Tacoma. Yes the 3.5L in my truck is new, but Toyota powertrains since the 80's have shown to have equal or better longevity than the big 3.

FX4 is a package not a trim and is available on 5 different trim levels. Would you like to narrow that down?

I am admittedly ignorant in regards to the Ford and Ram trim levels as I was a GM guy for the longest. Since you have the knowledge advantage here what would you believe to be a comparable trim level of the SR5 from say Ford?

The answer is because of the success of the Tacoma.

XLT, and the prices are much closer than the $5k that guy I responded to claims, even factoring in the deeper discounts given on domestics. It's more like $2k. But you can configure an XLT to be about $2k more than a top line SR5, so it's kind of a wash when you get down to it.

They're expensive as a mug, massive, and get awful gas mileage. Also, they last a long time, so there's not as much turnover.

If it's anything like my 2001 Suburban that I got rid of with about 200k miles, I'll take the under by 3. I had to replace one at 140k miles.

I put 180,000 on my last Chevy when I traded it. No problems at all. Probably the best vehicle I've ever owned.

Full sized trucks are kind of GM and Ford's thing.

Maybe he was talking used as when I was looking at trucks recently the price difference for a '14 or '15 Tacoma outpaced that of a '14-'15 F150. Admittedly that had a hand in my selection as well as I expect to move back into a full size in the next couple of years either when the Tundra is redesigned, the 5.0 shows true longevity, or GM can figure out their AFM issues long-term.

There will never be a best truck brand or model, most people are so passionate about the brand they drive, or were driving. I bought my 1st Tundra end of last year, and extremely happy and look forward to seeing how many miles I can put on it. I liked it enough to buy, but also liked things about F150 that the Tundra isn't, and Tundra had some positives that Ford didn't have. As far as lists go, if you try hard enough, you can find a report that says exactly what you want it to say and the next person can find a list or report that debates your exact point.

Yes the F150 got 5 stars despite only scoring three for it's powertrain reliability compared to 5 stars by the Tundra. The f150 overcame the poor showing by their powertrain by having higher ranked features than the Tundra. I give zero creed to a ranking system that gives features a higher weight than the actual powertrain.

I agree 100%. I care a lot more about my truck starting and running than whether or not I have push button start and A/C seats.

This is true too. A KR Ford lists at 60K and a 1794 Toyota at 53K. Markups are huge on domestics. You shouldn't buy one for less than 25% off MSRP.

More BS. You're not buying a $60k King Ranch for $45k, let alone less than that

To the average buyer, maybe so. I happen to care about reliability.

Tundra's are non-existent in the fleet sales market. That's a good bulk of truck sales.

Also little mark downs on Tundras

This is the answer.

Bull. fricking. shite.

Toyota as a company want to be the biggest and best at everything.

This guy claims he got a screaming deal on an extended cab truck. There's no way anyone is giving 25% off anything.
Same schtick every time one of these threads comes up. Didn't get the Tundra that he wanted because it was too expensive.
