I’m ready. Hope it all goes as planned.

Hope to see some cool pictures from inside Orion.

A friend of mine has been heavily involved with the project. He posted this to Facebook about a week ago.

quote:

After 21 years total working at the Johnson Space Center, 17 in exploration, and after 3 test flights over the last 12 years our first full Orion mission Artemis 1 is set for launch Monday at 7:33 a.m. Central time.

Anyone can watch the launch live on NASA TV: LINK

Also lots of details about the spacecraft, launch vehicle and mission are on the NASA website: LINK

This mission is a 42 day uncrewed flight of our Orion crew module around the moon with splashdown on October 10. My team and I have worked on this mission for about 8 years and are now fully engaged working toward the next mission Artemis 2, a crewed mission around the moon, launch date for that is currently Sept 2024.

Very excited to see the launch of the new SLS rocket, the most powerful rocket ever built, and to be going back to the moon!

Space-X isn’t in charge so there is a good chance NASA will frick up, and it never leaves earth.

Huntsville coming through again.

quote:

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A company with a storied past of helping NASA lift off now powers the Space Launch System the world will witness Monday.

Aerojet Rocketdyne‘s engines and motors are also designed right here in Huntsville.

“So many people in the community are working on different parts of the rocket,” Aerojet Rocketdyne avionics engineer Alison Varner told News 19.

“So it feels like one big group project your whole life…and Monday it’s coming to fruition so that’s really cool.”

Artemis III, which is the planned landing of man back on the moon will use a SpaceX lunar lander. So they do have a vested interest in this, at least.

Sorry, didn’t realize Artemis was involved with Space X. Still though, anytime NASA, and our fricked up guberment is invoked in I don’t trust anymore. They are not the NASA of old.

Of course people will say it’s photoshopped

I hope to see it from my front yard. I just wish it were a night launch - those are really cool to see from Orlando. You can see the glow just below the horizon when the engines ignite, and then on most launches can see the glow of the rocket boosters and of course the vapor trail.

Space-X had more than its fair share of screw ups, too. Peter Thiel saved the company from bankruptcy after its third failure at the beginning. Even when they launched successfully they had a lot of failures trying to return vertical rockets. Rocket science is hard, even for the best.

Those tards don’t care. They’ll just say it’s fake, photoshopped, etc. and that no rocket can get past the plexiglass dome or whatever retarded shite they believe.
