I drink 1-2 glasses of wine a night typically. I rarely get drunk.

Been drinking a bit more since my diagnosis but I know I’ll be turned off it once I go through chemo.

We all have our coping methods—as long as you’re not missing work or hurting people, you do you.

I am speaking as a 70 year old. And I drank almost everyday of my life after my 18th birthday. I never considered my an alcoholic. I never missed work and drank a couple of drinks before sleeping. If I could go back in time and change one thing, it would to have never drank when going out during celebrations. Some people handle to much to drink fine. I am not that person, and things said in a stupor can never be unsaid. I am not against casual drinking, but your life would be better without it.

Honestly, a lot of the most memorable times of my life were when I was shite-faced drunk.

As they say, no one starts a great story with "remember that time we were all eating salads?"

I drink a “fancy” beer a night because I enjoy the taste and very light alcohol euphoria buzz while I cook or wait for food to be served.

I do observe those around me sometimes going too hard and worry my drinking patterns enable them. The only time I consider my drinking to be a problem is when I really don’t want to give up my patterns for the sake of others.

Also, I’m starting to get burst capillaries on my cheeks. I’m not sure if it’s the alcohol or other factor, cause I really don’t drink nearly enough for sailor face.

Edit: oh, I’d I’m finally seeing age, diet, and booze taking a toll on the visibility of my abs as I’m getting a layer of fat into my mid 40’s

Quit drinking. Your life becomes better all around. Plus, beer is filled with phytoestrogens making you more feminine with every sip...

I feel like there’s not enough threads about people saying it’s ok to drink some beer and live a good life..
I think most people don’t make threads on why they’re not an alcoholic

I believe there’s probably a part of you that thinks you may have a problem and this thread is a way to justify to yourself through other peoples responses that you don’t have a problem.

I'm in the alcoholic reserves.

I get blackout drunk about one weekend a month, and two weeks a year.

I'm an avid whiskey guy.... to the point where I've done a few SiB picks w groups and drink almost every night. Not much... usually 1-2 pours as I wind down. Sometimes I think I have a problem cause its habitual.... I can not drink bit if don't usually sub with tea or something just so I'm sipping something with flavor to have the ritual.

I really kinda thought I might have a problem, until 2 of my buddies revealed they were alcoholics and described their behavior. Now I don't think OM close to a problem

I’ll drink more if we are out with friends, but other than that it’s maybe a glass of bourbon or a beer one or two nights a week after the kids are down. The older I get, the less the hangover is worth it.

I've often said, my liver is my super power. Due to genetics, I've been on statins for about 30 years. I drink about 3 liter of vodka a week. I never have a hangover, I am up at 6am every morning. My liver enzymes are tested every 6 months and are always in the normal range. I fit the definition of an alcoholic, but I can easily go without it for long periods of time. I don't crave it, just a habit I formed from being bored, I guess.
