Coach O has a pretty good sense of humor, so I doubt he'd care. Not sure why you do.

In an ideal world I can laugh about this and move on as it's just a silly segment during a blowout game. And the worst criticism that can come of it is "this is dumb". That's my personal feelings.

But if these new world standards are going to be implemented, then frick it. This shite is offensive to Louisiana heritage and these frickers need to never be employed by anyone ever again.

They just jelly that Coach O owns the greatest, most perfect and most unbelievable season in College Football history and had the most loaded team ever with awards for everyone, including the Heinemann, and five picks in first round of the NFL draft and a total of 14 tigers taken in the draft.

And they're just even more jelly they will never come close to dominance like that.

Everyone needs to get a sense of humor again and quit being offended or, worse, looking for something to be offended about. His voice and way of speaking are without argument unique and recognizable. If you’ deny that you are a liar.

They are 100% hypocrites but so what? Be like O and embrace it. That is the best way to get this shite to stop.

This is an idiotic assumption. He's said on multiple occasions that it does bother him.

I’m pretty sure most would agree it was in good fun and laughed and went on their day.

The point the OP is trying to make is that it wouldn’t be “in good fun” if it were a black or some other minority person, it would be seen as “racist” even if done non maliciously.

Do you really not see this?

ESPN turned its Twitter over last night to The Undefeated and aired a WokeCenter special in primetime. To the surprise of no one reading this, these decisions tanked the ratings. The WokeCenter special drew only 100,000 viewers. That, for those wondering, is a 25 year low for ESPN in primetime.

People aren’t even paying attention to ESPN any more. I grew up watching Sports Center. I found a non woke version of Sports Center that I enjoyed as a kid on the CBS Sports HQ app on my Roku.

Cancelled my Sirius today, all I wanted was college sports and all the idiots talked about was blm, so I cancelled. At the end they offered it free for 3 months but I told them I didn't want to hear about blm even if it was free.

Bruh, if any of the nationally sindicated ESPN broadcasts are playing on the radio, it's been unbearable for a few weeks now. We actually have a few sports playing and news about some of the leagues either reporting to practice or staring back up like golf. All they want to talk about it social issues. I don't tune into ESPN to talk about the social issues, all of the other channels are doing that too. The local BR ESPN radio shows at least talk about sports, so hats off to them. However, I've had to turn off Golic & Wingo every morning for a while now. Can't stand it anymore.

He could have chosen to be a whiny arse victim, but he chose to go scorched earth on the football field instead.

If we are being honest about the difference, here are my observations:
1. For something to be “offensive,” someone must be offended by it. People from Louisiana are proud of our heritage and culture. “Coonass” is basically a slur, bur it’s viewed almost like a badge of honor. I’ve never met a single person who was offended by the term. Most embrace it.
2. I think Coach O really benefits from his differences with other CFB coaches, including his accent. The fact that he’s not some typical boring football coach, along with the blue collar Cajun persona, probably helps more than it hurts when he’s in a recruit’s living room. And I think it works with the boosters - many LSU boosters are self-made Louisiana baws.

I obviously don’t know Coach O personally. But if he’s anything like every other Cajun I know, he’s proud of the way he talks and his culture. That doesn’t make some of the ESPN personalities’ comments any less hypocritical, but it’s hard to say they are offensive until a Galliano baw stands up and says “this offends me.” And quite frankly, I don’t see that happening.
