Thats why my statement was based off of trends and not an average for a singular day. In 2018, on 9/14 it was 94, in 2021 it was 78, and those are consistent with the average. It could be cool in early October, it could be hot in late October, but the general trend is that there is a decent temperature change around mid October, plus or minus a week or so.

Growing up bow season hunting was warm, but tolerable. The last 10 years it’s ball melting miserable

We always trick ourselves and make ourselves believe September automatically brings cooler weather when in reality it’s usually around mid October. I remember plenty of cool September days. 2011 when LSU played at Mississippi State on that Thursday night, don’t think it got out the 60s that day.
