That’s what playing 75 weekends a year get you. A burnout before he even tries out for the High School team. Travel ball is a scam. Nothing but a scam.
Here is a little secret, no baseball player is getting a full scholarship to college. If they are it’s to JuCo and with a 25 they can have a full ride in an academic scholarship. The whole baseball scholarship idea is hilarious.

Meh, if the kid has played baseball for 8 straight years and is now saying he doesn't enjoy it, then that is fine. He isn't quitting mid-season or anything like that.
Just make sure he stays busy with something else productive during that time of year.

I was on my way to being a contender (CF) at age 12. was almost a sure thing, and then Johnny Ward (LF) and I both discovered Laura at just about the same time and I gave up the passion to chase women.
And then late in the season she walked away from us, for a dang 2nd baseman (although he really could hit that ball).
I could'a been a contender (sigh)….

I have a 6 year old who has played 2 seasons of t-ball, he doesn't want to play this upcoming season...do I force him to play because I know what's best for him at this age?

Nah. Good on that parent. I have kids on my team openly tell me they'd rather play Fortnite for 4 hours after school than play outside or work on their basketball skills.
Then they wonder why they get beat in an early morning game, or lose focus/intensity when facing any bit of a challenge.

They showed zero interest in anything else . They wanted no part of Christmas, their mom's birthday, goingto a ballgame, a winter festival, etc etc. It had became like a drug and everything else just sucked and got in the way of fortnite. I gave them several opportunities to correct this. I tried to police their time in the game and that always turned into attitude and fighting. I'd had enough. So like I said.. frick that game. They'll be pissed for a while but it's time for them to breathe some air and experience life again.

You don't have to make him play sports. It is better if you don't. He needs control over that part of his life.

I enjoyed the 7 years of 3 seasons of little league games and I will miss it for sure. His last football game of 8th grade was bittersweet.
