re: When is the last time you’ve returned something?

A couple of months ago I bought a screen door for my f-i-l’s house and also bought a separate hardware package for it (~$32.00 for the hardware) at Lowe’s. I didn’t know that an identical second hardware package was secreted inside the screen door’s packaging. I’ve been driving around for since then with that package & the receipt in the back of my vehicle. So I’ll take this thread as providence messaging me to return the package.
Thanks
Thanks

A week ago I returned a dog fence-crate thing. We bought 2 as we thought he would need the space but ended up recovering and we need 0. I returned the unopened box and we kept one for future uses.
I also need to return a curtain rod that came in broken. Since we opened that box we have to take it to UPS instead of Kohls so it's a PITA and I haven't done it b/c I never go by the mall.
Both amazon.

The nearest Amazon Dropoff is at Whole Foods about 10 minutes from the house. No box necessary- just start the return, get the QR Code, bag it up, slap the label on it and drop it in the bin.
Same for me, return process for Amazon at Whole Foods is probably the easiest return for all of retail.

Its been a couple decades.
If something is busted at purchase and costs several hundred, I would consider it.
If I just dont like it, I'll give it away or sell it locally. But I hate returning stuff and havent done it in years.

Yesterday. Brought an exit sign back to Home Depot. Somebody put the LEDs facing the wrong way. They looked like they could come undone, but I didn’t think they would snap back into place like the first time.

No idea. I buy minimal things. Don’t need or want much

My old lady is better at it than me, but if I buy something, I'm 99% of the time not returning it. Clothes that don't fit usually end up in a garage sale or donated to Goodwill

My wife returns things on a regular basis - easily about 1/3 of the clothes/shoes she buys. It’s like a sport to her. Shopping apparently brings her joy whether it’s at a store or online. And apparently returning stuff is part of the fun. It’s mind boggling.

I live right behind a UPS store. I can walk there.
I always buy two different sizes of stuff on Amazon and return the one I don’t want. Also, I will buy two different colors of things to see them in person.
They all know me by name. Just like my sex life, I’m in and out in 30 seconds.

All the time, why would you keep clothes that don't fit, especially with how easy Amazon returns are?

We have the same debate in my household. Women are exploiting the return policies which just makes things more expensive for everyone else.

Bought a dress from CUPSHE and it doesn’t fit. Will probably give it away rather than bothering returning.

My wife got a package from Amazon today and immediately wanted to return it so I had to retrieve the box from the trash.
Returns with Amazon is easy. You don't need the box if you have a Whole Foods close. Just start the return online and they will email you a QR code. Take the item to Whole Foods, show them the QR code and walk out.
ETA: You do need the items box but not any exterior shipping boxes, etc.

My purchases are final and most are too cheap to worry about the hassle of returning.
BTW LL Bean boots are very badly sized which were my most recent returns. Even ordering a full size under as instructed, the boots were still huge. They should get their sizing sorted out.

Weird post to proclaim that you're lazy and don't return stuff. Sucks for your hardworking wife who isn't a deadbeat.

Most of the OT has traded in their spouse for a new one. So probably the wrong crowd.

Amazon makes it so damn easy to return.
