A week ago. Rockauto sent the wrong Denso coils.

I just returned a pair of front tires for my mower. I'm redoing the front axle, spindles, etc for it and just order brand new stuff.
Everything was 1 = 1 part... except for the tires. It was 1 = 1 pair. I didn't read it and 4 tires showed up via UPS. Sent 2 of them back.

I love those stories about people returning an overdue library book after something like 250 years.
I also love how those people always get exempted from the overdue fines. Like you get fined if you're just a day late returning the book, but you get exempted from the fines if you're a super egregious offender and return it 250 years late.
I get that the returner won't be the same person who checked out the book at that point, but whoever returns the book would presumably be an heir to whoever checked out the book 250 years ago. So, if you inherit money from the guy who checked out the book, you should have to pay the whopping fines from his overdue library book as well.

Did you have any problems with Rockauto with the return? I have never had to return anything from them, but I have read they can be difficult to deal with.

very very rarely - I despise returning something.
Wife works in retail management. They take almost all returns as a matter of policy - and the policy is a shitty one.
Example: Suitcase gets returned. It is damaged and stained from use. It clearly is a "let's buy it, use it and return it" scam. The company wants it back on the floor. Who the hell wants a used, damaged and stained suitcase (unless you are shopping at a thrift store)?
Wife damaged it out and took it off the shelf.

I didn't...but you do have a pretty tight return window.

I hate returning things,I don’t order shoes or shirts online because I don’t want to have to return them if they don’t fit.
My sister will order 6 pairs of shoes, keep 1 pair and send the rest back.No way I would want to go to all that trouble.

It depends on the value of the purchase and the ease of returning. If it is miniscule, I will just give it away.

Almost never. It's too much of a pain in the arse.
That being said, I bought a formal gown for a black tie event and also a whole new summer wardrobe yesterday without trying on, so I'll probably suck it up and make the return in person at the local location if this stuff doesn't fit just due to how high in cost it all was.
I should clarify that I buy the majority of my clothing in person at local boutiques or Dillard's where I try on, so returns aren't really needed.

I also need to return a curtain rod that came in broken. Since we opened that box we have to take it to UPS instead of Kohls so it's a PITA and I haven't done it b/c I never go by the mall.
Both amazon.
Interesting. When I receive something messed up from Amazon, they never make me return the broken one. It's just as much hassle for them to deal with receiving it back as it is for us to return it. And curtain rods are cheap.

Bought a dress from CUPSHE and it doesn’t fit. Will probably give it away rather than bothering returning.
Too big? You're petite like me. None of their clothing ever fits me. Weirdly, all of their swimsuits are perfect and 99% of the swimwear I own.

I'm more interested in the troubles everyone is encountering with returning things, it's never been easier in my opinion. zero hassle to slap a label they send you on and have it collected at work when UPS picks up or put right back in my mailbox.

The nearest Amazon Dropoff is at Whole Foods about 10 minutes from the house. No box necessary- just start the return, get the QR Code, bag it up, slap the label on it and drop it in the bin.

I have returned stuff within an hour of receiving it- if it’s not going to work for what I need it to do, I’m not keeping it.
Staples will do this as well. I had to return a damaged face lotion this way. Just gave it to them in a ziplock bag.

I honestly just hate errands and people.
Admittedly, UPS is across the street from my neighborhood area, but it shares a parking lot with Neighborhood Walmart next to the trashiest apartments in town.. so I'll carry that package around for 2+ weeks before I finally relent and stop when it's too early for annoying people to be out and about yet.
I've never done a return I can get picked up, as I usually need to walk in with the item in hand and hand it off to them to box/label for me (included in most returns these days). I don't keep boxes or packages around to repackage something myself and get it picked up.

The total shipping will likely cost more than the good, but from what I keep reading on reviews, the Chinese sellers will just repackage/sell the broken shite. I guess eventually someone will just feel it's too big of a hassle to return it.

Before last summer. Ordered the fullbrim solar powered fan bucket hat for being at ball games and the fans didn't work ,got new ones. But by that time had ordered from another place an all worked fine with that one.

I put an old bicycle with a flat rear tire out in the front yard expecting someone to take it, and they did.
An hour later it was placed back but they had attempted to ride it (flat) and the tire and tube were wrapped around the axle.
